Hi all,

With positive feedback from my introduction thread, here are some new photos I just took including the interior and (dirty) engine bay. I hope you all like them - coilovers STILL in transit from the US..can't be long now!

Thanks for viewing.

I take it you haven't been pulled over yet...turbo on your P's in Vic will end up with you not having a Telstar for a while. Hope your luck holds out cos the fine that goes with the impounding and potential loss of licence if they get you is pretty significant.

Car does look pretty good though, a few subtle mods can make all the difference. Wheels definitely look good on the car

He may have an exemption? Great looking tx5 man! I reckon 30 or 40mm lower with the coilovers and it will look unreal.

TX5's are eligible for an exemption. As are TX3 turbos!

Thanks everyone yeah the coils should go down a treat.

Also I was lucky enough to have the Lower Performance Turbocharged/Supercharged exemption. It's specific only to this car under my name (engine and chassis number). Some turd policeman goes 'What makes you so special, what bullshit story did you cry to Vicroads to get this' thats the kind of attitude you get.. Im really not special and I honestly never hoon..check my tyres. So the cop goes 'hmm was this car turbo from factory?', does it have a computer?' LMAO..after finding NOTHING remotely wrong, he wobbles my drivers seat and goes 'look mate ahh gonna have to get that tightened.'

Hus I with the TX3s unfortunately they won't allow it due to being a 'sports variant' and having two doors and perhaps no child seat anchorage points. THey were a little more powerful with 117kw from factory

Bloody hell you're right they are applicable. That's unreal isn't it..I think alot of P platers don't realise the little loopholes in the system huh. Either that or they don't like these cars

Nice. Loopholes are awesome to work with. My Uncle was looking at a Starlet Turbo for my cousin and apparently they are 'too powerful', although I think they only just crack 100kw. He had to sell his BA RTV V8 cos his apprentice couldn't get an exemption for work vehicle. It's all bs anyway, how many stock Commodores, Falcons, Magnas etc get stacked by idiot drivers? It comes down to the drive more than the car most of the time anyway.

Got the coilovers in yet? should look even better with a little less height in it, and drive better too.

Thanks XR_lightning,

Yeah I couldnt agree more DJV8T5, it comes down to the driver in the end. Alot of people under the pre 2007 laws ruined it for the next generation, im talking about the days where every bloke had a VL Turbo, VN SS, Cleveland XE and the likes. No one cared - it would've been great. Your cousins situation is a fine example of how these laws are causing hardship to young people. Having to sell a nice RTV because of this rediculous law is just low.

By the way I think the Starlets are bloody awesome. I'd love to have one but imagine finding parts!

Oh and the coilovers: I get an email from the states saying the box was damaged and parts missing.. wtf so they're upgrading me to D2 brand of the same specs. I've demanded express airfreight as this is stupid now. Im a freight forwarder myself, I should've shipped it over quicker lol

I wouldnt be blaming the generation before. The generation before that did the same and the next would do the same too if they could! That side is just a natural desire as car people. To have hot cars that sound and go well.

Its awesome that your TX5 and TX3's are exempt. Smart work can reveal such little gems
