So I traded the biggest piece of crap car I have owned to date in on a near new triton. I'm referring to my ripcurl ute.

It's 90ks. Gxl, Turbo diesel, auto, tray and bullbar and 4x4.
So fucking practical. I don't know why I didn't graduate to dual cab 4x4 Wayyy ago. Sigh.

Image

Since that photo it's got a new tool box in the back and a rear ladder rack. The only other things that will be done is a removable front rack(I'm a chippy) and 5% tint all around.

Mods- I can't modify my first post (tittle)
Can you please change the last part to 2012 triton TD cheers!

So guys still absolutely loving the triton, it's so so good having a proper 4x4 ute. Jump in, drive over shit give it diesel and that's about it.
I did a major service including front+rear diffs, transfer case, engine oil+filter, air filter and fuel filter. I also replaced the front brake rotors and pads as they were beyond buggered. This is locky and I while mums at work up on rainbow beach a month or two ago, an epic day. Locky had a ball!ImageImage

So the time has come that we have decided to upsize from the FG. Britt likes feeling high and safe with locky on board and keeping up with safety is most important to us both. The lucky bigger is picking up the FG on Tuesday. The thing is still perfectly straight with not a mark or a dent anywhere inside and out. It has 59,xxxkms now and we got top dollar for it. It will be sad to see it go, As much as I truly do have the shits with Fomoco the wiser I become. We've owned it over 3 years and 3 months and it's been a generally great car.
However if you can look past the badge on the new car and actually understand the tech and the luxury and safety of the new car you would be with me on saying we aren't looking back!(more on this later).

Here's the sale photos for the FG

They don't care anymore, they haven't for years. Also they seem to be 5 years behind the times.
Also petty things like the Aussie built cars, thin paint, rust problems, outdated tech, out dated interiors. Shit build quality in general comparing to any other large manufacturers

Our Kia now has 13,000ks. Great, great car so far. No problems whatsoever, no quality issues whatsoever. Incredible fuel consumption for a 7 seater AWD suv, We average 8.5L/100kms this drops down to 6.5-7L/100kms on the highway.

Still incredibly nice to drive and the tech in it is endless I'm still finding things it can do that I didn't know before. I'll get some photos or a video of it next time I get a chance.

Triton is going great, now has 123,000ks and I've just spent around $1200 on; 4 x tyres, timing belt, full service (3 filters, injector purge, full engine detox and flush, coolant flushed and changed) and I paid for a in and out detail because the interior was stained and crappy from me treating it like a rubbish bin. Came up mint so I'll have to keep it that way.

Bit of a close call with the timing belt service, tritons run a balance shaft wich is also turned with a belt and happens to part drive the oil pump. Upon removing the timing cover we noticed there was no rubber 'teeth' left on the belt! This ended up being great to find because once the new belt was fitted the car (obviously) runs wayyyyy smoother and whiter with RPM. I've always thought the 4d56 were just a bit cheap and noisy. Turns out not. Runs like a different car now. Stoked as.
