Hey guys, so just a little about myself: my names nick I'm 19 years old turning 20 this year, I'm from Abury, NSW and I'm a first year fitter and machinist.

I'm a proud owner of a 1983 xe Fairmont that I'm the second owner of, and I've recently brought a el xr6 that I picked up in Melbourne.

yeah well I went down to Melbourne just to have a look, but had the cash with me to buy it. saw it and took it for a drive and I just had to have it haha. its immaculate to look at, factory 5 speed and sunroof, well he got the whole roof off his ghia he had and put it onto this one. the front bar has been plastic welded so that the top is xr6 the middle is the ghia fog lights, with the bottom xr6 spoiler. I just fell in love with it

the previous owner even made up a cool boot trim, instead of having the ghia badge to open the boot, hes cut it out to fit a tickford badge in, so ill be buying a tickford badge soon and putting that off, one of the wooden trims in the interior is broken, but that's about all I have to do with looks.

I plan to made it a nice n/a, ive brought a 977b wade cam for it apparently custom grout, I plan to get some roller rockers and chrome molly push rods, also plan to put the tickford head off and put a standard one on and get it port and polished, just because Id like to keep all my standad parts.

yeah its a classy ride to get around with on my p's, I used to have a bf magnet xr6 factory 5 speed ute and it was toxic green, lowered on its guts and on 20s. it was literally a "cop magnet"so I got rid of that and have been keeping a low profile in me xe.

The xe Fairmont was completely standard when I brought it, the engine still is completely standard carbi and still has the vac, ah its a 3 speed t bar as well. around 250,000 km when I brought it.

all ive done is lower it on super lows, paid a bloke in Wodonga to get 2 dents out and spray and give it a cut and polish, and I sprayed the venetians from black to vanilla which is the same colour as the car, and I also picked up a cheap set of 12 slotters. heres some snaps for you :)

the interior is immaculate btw

Love the XE. That interior shits all over my old GL's interior. I'll have to dig up the pics one day.

I almost bought that EL lol. Was getting it for a decent price but didn't have the time to fix up all the little niggles it would have needed done for a roady and the couple of marks around the kit.

Was definitely a good buy for anyone looking for a little project like that. Good luck with it!

yeah well I went for a blue slip last week, all I need to do is put standard springs in, secure the battery, fix the exhaust leak.
but he is pretty lenient, as ive taken all my cars there.

yeah its got a few little things I have to fix up, but nothing that a bit of time and money wont fix :)
I got it for a decent price I thought, my mechanic which is my good mate came with me.
