Hi all,

Names Nickd thought I'd introduce myself as been on here for a while as you'd probably recognise my user name on other ford forums.
Own a couple x-series fords :) and owner of ESPGhia.com
I used to drive brand new E-Series for a Ford Country Dealership when they were new to sell as demo 's as it was a way to do some km's and give feedback to Dealer about the car if it sat on the showroom floor for a while to move it on.
Anyway that's that but looking for a XG xr6 ute for a daily and possible project in original condition.

Thanks for the welcome guys let's see if I get a reply.

Looking at purchasing a XG ute but want to do a motor conversion to a Tickford au VCT 4.0L motor.

Has anyone here done it and can it be done and what's involved?

Welcome! ;)

Au into XG, pretty easy. Might have to grind the front of the sump down a bit, and use the xg intake manifold and accessories.

G'day. Thought that username looked familiar.

Won't be offended if you pimp this thread out with pics of all Falcons mentioned above.

Welcome :)

If you get the XG, just get a normal AU (or XR6) motor. That way you can change the cam in it without epic **** around. I love the utes myself, and want an XH V8 ute one day.

Do post some pics of the Falcons (and other cars) you have too, always good to see some nice cars

Thanks guys for replies :drinks2:

An AU motor with modified sump will fit into XG?

So tell me I'm either thinking of rebuilding the current motor or putting it aside for an AU motor but not sure what's going to be involved as I've been told an AU motor will need an engineers certificate ?? And to keep away from the VCT motor.
Any info thoughts ideas for such a conversion post away, has anyone here done it to an XG?

You won't need an engineers because it's the same engine size and displacement.

The vct engine is alright but you're limited by cam choice etc.
If just go au xr engine or what not. That way it can be played with easier.

Definitely need to Chuck some photos up :)

only need sump mod if it is going to hit K frame, and I think they use XF K frame in XG. Would need to see a pic of K frame and a sump in the K frame. Only one way to find out
