Hi all.

Been around this forum for a while but I accidentally posted my new member introduction in the build threads section. Oops. So let's try again.

My car is a 1996 ef xr6 that I picked up for $1800 almost completely stock back in 2012.

Current setup:

King sl front springs.
King ssl rear springs.
Kyb xlg front struts.
Monroe gt sport rear struts.
Whiteline 30mm front sway bar.
Pacemaker extractors.
Full 3" exhaust and a 2.5" exhaust. (Keep switching between the two)
Short shifter.
CSA 17's with 235/45 rubber.


Future plans:

My goal is to set the car up to handle better. Not really interested in huge amounts of power at the moment as I just don't find it necessary. I'll be installing a set of coilovers fairly soon (either pedders, xyz or bilstein, haven't decided yet), replacing the brake rotors/pads and replacing any worn out suspension bushes.

Sounds like a good plan mate. Welcome! how do you find the Kings/Monroe GT combo? Thinking of running that with a whiteline swaybar in my ED.

Love that your setting it up properly BEFORE power.
Pedders and Bilsteins are not even comparable, however I wasn't aware Bilstein made adjustable coilovers off the shelf to suit E-series?

They're not bad for the price. Sway bar makes the bigger difference though. I'd steer clear of ssl though for springs. And make sure you get the gt sport shocks, not the standard gt gas.

They don't but I've spoken to a couple of places that custom make them. Fair bit more expensive to do that though. At this stage it's looking like xyz's are the way to go. The pedders ones are a fair bit more expensive and I haven't had the greatest experiences there in the past but still talking to a few people to figure out what's going to be best.

I've got the pedders, and it's a nice easy fit, and an amazing ride.
Also chuck in some au upper arms with Rollins au upper arm adapter.
He's got them in the commercial trader section I think.
