well, as above really...

im moving to brisbane on the 6th of september, so i will be looking for a falcon pretty soon after that. was thinking of looking for a mint xf fairmont ghia, but after seeing prices on ebay and others i might have a look for a good mint eb fairmont ghia, preferably V8, but i guess a 4.0l will be a lot easier to find.

i currently have a XF ute, nothing major done to it, XR front, 15x8s and some nice fat rubber, hard cover, low good suspension, engine has a custom CAI, warm cam, extractors and a stainless exhaust., interior is early xr seats, far better steering wheel than factory, good sounds,( kenwood headunit, splits, 8inch sub under each seat).

its going into storage while i see how oz goes for us, if we end up staying i will just sell it off i guess.

anyway, good wee site here, i have already learnt a bit in the few days i have been registered...

if u hunt around long enough youll find a nice e-series xr for a decent price. how much is it to ship a car from nz to here?

ive been told about $3-4000, and if it was just that then i would look into shipping my ute over, but i have been told that the oz laws would just make it a nightmare to get my ute legal over there, i would basically have to make it all stock just to get a rego...
and with oz being the land of the cheap fords im better off just to buy a new toy once i get there.
not really too fussed about getting an XR, i like the creature comforts of the ghias, and the missus likes the auto... unfortunatly.

This is my ute as i first got it, i was lucky enough to get it with everything all ready done.
but i didnt like the 20's at all, and at over $600 for just one rear tyre i wasnt too keen on wearing them out...
Image
so being that i prefer old school mags on old school cars i found a cheap set of 15x8s, with good tyres, 245 fronts, and 265 rears, for $400.
some say it looked better with the 20s but not me. :P :P :P
Image
that pick shows what a crap job was done of colour matching when the front was resprayed after being vandalised on the car yard before i got it...

now, once im in oz, i wanna find a nice mint grand dad owned fairmont ghia V8 (hopefully) and turn it into a eb gt replica, at least looks wise, hopefully have it looking a little like this...
Image
i think the only bit i wouldnt have of the gt kit is the centre bonnet scoop, i reckon a ba xr8 one would look better. or even a ba shaker... :P

although if i was able to convince the missus into a sprint.... now that would be mint lol

G'day mate, welcome. Too bad you can't bring it over. Definitely sits nicer on the 15s. Hopefully it won't be too long before you find something to fill the void.

You're moving over here 2 weeks too late! You'll completely miss Powercruise!

that pic is probably the only one where i liked them as well, most of the time they just looked too big. they were on the ute when i got it, previous owner had them imported from the states.
