Hey
Just thought I'd join the forum as I'm considering fixing up my 88 EA S Falcon (nothing "S" about this one)

Nickname: Dumbo (it's big, grey, handles like an elephant, and the numberplate is DMB)
Latest Nick: Rustbucket, or Shitbox
Mods: (none)
A huge dint on the FL door and QPanel (which I shot with a bow later on during a drunken party)
New gear knob (I snapped the last one off when my Clutch pedal fell off (as they do?)) hehe
Put in yellow blinkers instead of clear ones (can't remember why)
New rear bumper due to half snapping my old one off (driving down a dirt road, somehow the right side of it came off, and got caught on the ground and twisted around (I held it up with a clamp for about 2 years before replacing it))
Condition: Terrible
LoveOMeter: ***** (5 stars) I love my car, every time I drive someone else's car, I get back into mine, and feel like I'm top of the world, driving my tin shed on wheels (I've got roof racks, which make it a bit noisy).

My clutch went last weekend near Bacchus Marsh, and the mechanics are taking me for all I've got, so I figured since I'm gonna spend money on it, might as well go all out and fix it up a little, mostly superficially.
Thinking of painting it purple, maybe even get rid of the ugly grey stripes on the side, and filling them with body filler.
Hoping to fix up the interior, maybe put a chunky air filter in, and a bigger exhaust, but I'm not making it into a drag car or anything, I'm quite happy with the power (when the clutch is not slipping).
In fact, I'm hoping to make it into a bush basher, lift it up as high as possible and hopefully I'll be able to put muddies on it (33"s would be awesome:).
PS. Ideas and suggestions about lift kits would be appreciated.

I figured I'd join you guys, and maybe get a few suggestions or ideas for little changes that I can do to it.

Thanks for reading :)

(I wiped my HD, so these are the only photos I had online, I'll take some more once I get my car back)

A standard $500 sierra will go 100 times further than a lifted EA with 33's which you wont be able to fit anyway.

Nice abuse, I hope to leave my EB in a large puddle/dam one day.

33" muddies might be ambitious (about 8" more than your std rim + tyre combo).

With an engineers cert., anything is possible :)
But you're right, I nearly bought a Jeep Wrangler for proper 4WDing, but I haven't got time for proper bush bashing, so I figured I might as well make my EA look ridiculous, and not spend as much money.

Commando: yeah :D, maybe 31"s if I can manage a 6" lift, I had a quote for a 12" lift at about $5k... but that's going overboard..
BTW, in that photo, the rear wheels are off the ground.. it's sitting on it's axle (had to spend 2 days in the bush by myself, waiting for someone to pull me out, lucky I had some beers to keep me company)

Pics/vids will be a must with 31/33s!

Hahaha, absolutely
But that might take a while, first I wanna see if I can paint it myself (I've never done it before), I'll start with spray cans (for the smaller stuff like the front "grill?") and see how I go, before I start stripping the car.
On the other hand.. I might as well raise it, spend some money, that way I'm committed and won't get lazy

I started painting my car, pretty poor effort, but I'm getting a lil' better at it, I rushed the first few times, so I'm gonna have to redo those bits.
I do have a question though, given that I'm using spray cans... once I paint the colour on, it's quite rough (quite evenly spread, but physically rough).. do I need to wet sand it, and THEN put the clear coat on? or do I just spray the clear coat, and then wetsand?
Also got a bullbar with a few extra lights, I'll have to find a tutorial on how to hook 'em up with a relay.
I'll upload some pics once I find my camera.
