Herrow. Another EF XR8 on the books

Hey y'all.

Some may know of me from other forums, but you can blame Matt [EF ECTIV] for this. He posted up a few pics on another site of some of your cars on display at Sandown, and I grabbed the address from there. I was pretty sure this site existed, but just never knew the address/bothered to join up until now.

Keen to see some like minded people, and check out some of the insane rides (already looked through a few of them).

Anyhoo, I've got a blown EF XR8 which I very rarely drive these days. I've only just spent some money on it getting it ready for a rally I'm entering (Tocchi & Carl [ED 40 WA] are entering too). I've collected assorted parts that may or may not one day make their wat onto the car, and 3 sets of rims for the car which I don't drive very often these days. I'll chuck up a show off thread some time soon. This is what it looks like as it currently sits.

The other ride I use a lot more is a Suzuki GSXR1000. It's too cheap (purchase & fuel cost) and too much fun. Only basic mods on this one, most done before I bought it. It goes plenty fast for me as is.

Cheers
Damon

Cheers. It may be making a bit more of an appearance now that I have actually spent some money on it Matt. The tyres have been fitted to the EB GT rims, so I collect them on Saturday. Will get some pics then. I can't wait to chuck them on the car. Will be the first time they have had tyres on them since I have owned them.

Here's an engine bay pic. Nothing in here has changed since I bought the car unfortunately.

welcome!
can't complain with a near stock windsor + vortech!
not a bad effort to net a 13.5 too!

Looks very similar to my Vortech setup, hobo alloy BOV pipe, non-intercooled plus AU/similar MAF hanging off the t/b :P

Although you've got a rising rate reg by the looks of it. What tuning & fuelling are you running? I'm assuming you've got 19lb injectors getting ramped up by the reg, & just a CAPA chip?

My current "setup" (drivable, but placed on the backburner) is the CAPA chip, 19lb injectors, AU MAF off t/b, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, non-intercooled & no water/meth injection. CBF finishing it off (36lb injectors, twEECer, F150 Lightning 90mm MAF, water/meth injection) for the timebeing though.

Cheers for the compliments.

Fogive me. I'm not the most mechanically minded person.

My kit is just the CAPA kit installed by MWS as far as I am aware.

Fuel system is stock at the moment at the moment, so yeah, being pushed by the reg. I'm thinking about sending it in for a tune soon, in which case I have been told there is a good chance I will need to upgrade the injectors. Tuning is done through a Chipmaster (one of the companies over here in WA) chip. Runs pretty rich, and a lot of people see some decent fuel clouds come out of my car. Hahaha.

pretty good result though.
if you opened the motor up there would be great gains, but i'm impressed from a HO motor.

Hey Damon, if you see some decent clouds behind your car, i have found, that even though it is running rich. If you have even a little bit of belt slip, it will spew the extra fuel straight out the exhaust. Mine needs to re-tensioned right now. Cause i leave a cloud of fuel behind if i really boot it atm.

Cheers Dave. I'll have a look into that. It's always been like this though, so I'm thinking it is more the tune it came out with.
