well i tried a mates j3 chip out in my car we set the rev limiter at 7000rpm and at that its still pulling extremely hard, so in the next few weeks the bottom end is getting pulled out and is getting replaced with a au bottom end with girdle and stronger rods, then dyno tuned the last dyno tuner reckons the motor is good for 9000rpm tha way it is built i just gotta strengthen the bottom end up. and im getting my own j3 chip this week. cant wait hehe

rev limiter at 7000rpm and at that its still pulling extremely hard
the motor is good for 9000rpm
What parts are the rotating assembly made out of, did Glenneaux fab them up for you?

we will see guyz its an estimation it i get 8g safelly out of it ill be happy, it did 7g with no hassles at all, didnt even feel like it was stressing at all, the revlimiter is alwaise on the minute you take off your ready for second coz by the time you thought of it the limiter is already on.

Got any other mods so far, on top of the stage 3 crow cam, 4499s and full exhaust system?

But what mods has it currently got to not only rev to 7000rpm, but feel like it can go well beyond 7000?
Do you have any dyno readouts of it hitting 7000? If so, what did the power band look like up the top? And if you have a dyno readout (but it doesn't show the rpms) what speed were you doing and what gear were you in?

I have a dyno readout at 6150rpm and it was still going up but due to the limiter at wouldnt go anymore, it pulled 136kws (which isnt much) but had 500nm of torque. i havent dynoed at 7000rpm yet but on the streets its still pulling no problems. the only mods are cam, extractors, exhaust, crow vernier cam gear, crow valve springs and the diff. thats it.

He had my chip in it so it's a bit hard to dyno it, when my chip was in it for a couple of hour's and i was driving around his suburb. the reason he is getting a chip is he tried mine and we played around.and he has seen the what it will do happily. when i drove it hit 7g with no hesitation's beside's any standard 4l on gas will rev to 6500 like many i have owned and driven they dont like it but they do it. beside;s it;s not a game of prove what it does. it's a car owner telling you what it does.

So how do you know it hit 7g?
I'm asking not because I'm playing a game, but because some of the numbers don't add up. Notice I haven't called BS yet, I'm just trying to find out more through asking questions.
For example, 500nm. That's about 100nm more than my 5.0 made n/a, out of a 4.0 n/a which makes ~360nm standard. Where'd the extra 140nm come from? The answer is it was probably just a simple error in reading the results.
And I'm not sure how getting a dyno readout for a car in a chip with it is any more difficult than doing the same for an unchipped car.

And I'm not sure how getting a dyno readout for a car in a chip with it is any more difficult than doing the same for an unchipped car. answer is, i went to his house to install a tiptronic in his bro's eb no dyno in his shed.
So how do you know it hit 7g? answer with a j3 chip which i found on this forum you can set the rev limit so when it hit's the limiter before i go to change gears it must be what i set it at. i met him through acf he was looking for advice on how to make a car with a big cam idle and run nice. thats where my j3 chip come in.and he ended up with my e series tiptronic setup.power and torque i cant answer. but it is the tuffest six iv'e been in exept the turbo one's. im pretty sure the next acf dyno day he will be there.

no doubt ill be there, my car is no slow average wagon and weather the numbers add up or not thats what it pulled and it wants more.weather its coz i built it or its just a freak car im yet to have any falcon 6 or holden 6and 8 beat the car on the streets. im sure there are quicker ones out there but im yet to find them.

I don't get how the answer matches the question? (Dyno readout)
I just find 7000rpm a sky-high figure for a 4.0. Especially one with standard rotating assembly including standard pistons. It must really be pushing the limits!

well according to the dyno sheet it was still running rich at 6150rpm. and everything seems to be fine. it has no abnormal noises and everything seems to be sound. love it or not mate thats wat its doin and the next dyno day i go to with the chip ill get a print out and post it on ok.

I'd say 7000rpm from a 4.0 would be a pretty abnormal noise

But yeah, without me going around in circles, a dyno printout or a youtube vid (inc tacho in shot) of it hitting 7000rpm would be mint.

listen man it suprised the shit out of me aswell, im gonna wait to get my own j3 chip then im gonna set the limiter to as high as it goes and put it on the dyno when it peaks out thats where ill set the limiter.
