Introduce yourself and your ride.

Greetings

Postby Brendanssound » February 5th, 2009, 2:54 am

G'day boys and girls,

My names Brendan, Most people call me Brendo for short.. But whatever suits is fine.
I'm a member on Xfords for the X series falcons.. I love them. Iv managed to go through
a XD, XF 25th anniversary, And XF Spack all before getting my licence and thats not including
the other cars (Escort, Holden Astra N13, Dihatsu Charade).. So you may ask why am i here?

Well i was originally going to hold onto my money and get around $1-2000 and buy myself an XE
however since seeing the prices on some of the E series falcons. Iv changed my mind and decided
i can come back to doing a project X series falcon up. And for now i will get a EB-EL-EF preferably
fairmont. So hopefully i will be a regular visitor here .. Been checking out the showroom section and
damn you guys make the E series cars look so much better than the bloody bogans around my area do.

If anyone has got some good reads on the E series fairmonts or know any going relatively cheap (preferably
with Rego or very close to it) Give me a yell... Or should i say.. Private message?. Ok.. That's all from me for
now.. Take it easy boys

- Brendo

G'day mate. Won't take you long to find an EF/L Mont if you come on here often enough. Throw up some pics of your X-Series :)

haha i knew someone would ask!

Here she is:
Image
Image

XF Spack EFI 250 crossflow, Was also a manual which was pretty sweet but so alien technoledgy to
me because the gears were all turned around (I kid you not, I almost took out a few of my mates when
i accidently stuck it in reverse instead of first).

I wish i kept the damn thing.. It was a beast. Only fault with it was the screw on the idle (I'm not very mechanicly minded as some).
Was turned to far and it wouldnt start unless it was exactly where it was meant to be. Brought it for 250$.. sold for $400 (i thought
that was funny). I'll drag out some photos of the old N13 if you guys like.. It was merely a A-to-B car.. That's all holdens are good for
imo. Was pretty glad to get rid of it. Never took photos of the XF 25th Anniversary.. I'm trying to sell most of the parts from it atm
on Xfords. Since i want to buy a Eseries fairmont.. Just not sure which one would be best.. EB or not to EB?

Thought you guys might enjoy a bit of vintage :D My old esky just before my mate sold it for me after i *cough* kinda racked up a few tickets.. Because of the damn exhaust pipe falling off on a slight bump in the road. Oh.. and the whole learner driver with no opened license driver.. Yeah.. I learnt my lesson a couple of hundred dollars later. Lucky i didn't loose my license.

Hey mate,

Funny you say that.. I was looking at it last night and wishing to myself i had the fundings to pick it up now but
long story short.. This new job of mine is a bit dodgy looking and im not 100% sure if i should stick it out and see
if it works out or not. Work from home telemarketting job selling website packages for tourism to restraunts and such..
Called the iwanna group.. They reckon if i work for them and sell a few packages im looking at anything from $1000-1500
per week.

Done a bit of research and found some things that don't add up. Guess you could say its just wishful thinking that it works
out for me.

Damn. Your close to two hours away...

I'm down south a bit, in Murwillumbah. The neighbour has had the "For Sale" sign up for maybe a couple of months. I know the car goes well, It's been going well for the 8 years I've been here. Not too clear on the details, but off the top of my head; it's a Gli... It's the 3.2 cfi engine... In good condition, few scrapes and bumps.

If ya ever down this way, contact me and I'll take ya to see it.

Yeah, but as fowlerj pointed out: An EB GLi with the 3.2 CFI engine? The 3.2 was discontinued in the EA, wasn't it?

It deserves further inspection.

are you sure its an EB?

the 3.2 was discontinued early in the EA Range.
EA and EB I's were all GL's
GLi's were from EBII onwards.
CFI dissapeared as of EB II

It could be an EA that's been done to look like an EB.

It has the different reverse lights and the centre badge at the front.
