Hi there, name's Jack.
I drive an ED Falcon (gli) which was given to me by my pop, it had only 32,000kms when I received it back in 2004...though I was only 13 at the time:-(
Unfortunately my father decided to use it as his work car and clocked up about 130,000kms over those 4-5 years, however the body is still in perfect shape and the car itself is mechanically sound.
Now at the age of 18 and the end of year 12 just around the corner, I find myself at a crossroads (well, not really)...
Do I sell the old girl, or give her a chance and spend the money I've been saving (for another car) on modifying her?
What do you guys think?

Do you want a new car or not?
Not rocket surgery.

Keep it, save coin, don't mod til you've got a good job happening. If it's reliable and in good nick, you'd be crazy to sell it!
Got any pics of the ED?
BTW whatever you do, don't be like dump3d & f**k it with bad-taste stickers, neons, 11ty speakers in teh boot, etc etc...

Defintily dont sell it.. just look at some of the Ea-Ed's on here and check out the potential...

. Chuck some big wheels on it, dump it on its guts and boost it.

Nah, no pics unfortunately...but I'll be sure to post some when I get chance. Stock ED GLI in white, not too exciting:-P
I hate those cheap, tasteless cosmetic "mods" most teenage guys go for...like most my mates haha.

You'll fit in well here
Plus certain Queensland members have an odd reverence for white boxcars. Keep it stock-ish for now until the money starts rolling in. In the meantime, enjoy your time here!

Cheers mate:-)
Btw, who does the green falcon with MRDOSE on the plates belong to? The one in the boosted e-series banner in case you don't know what I'm on about.
Looks aren't a major concern for me as subtlety is what I'm going for, I'd be satisfied with a set of 18s/19s and slightly lowered ride hight. Just a little unsure of where I'd start with performance bits 'n pieces...what would you suggest?
I'd like to start by spending between $2000-$3000, just bought a new guitar so I'm a little strapped for cash.
A mate of mine (drives shit VS commodore) reckons extractors, a high-flow cat and 2 1/2 inch exhaust.

that would be sunndeeps EA, and extractors, a high-flow cat and 2 1/2 inch exhaust as your mate said will make a notsable differance.
is it auto or manual?

Yeh I wouldnt bother with a hi-flo cat, just get the pipes on the cat cut n shut to 2.5", hi-flos are >$250, cut n shut adds like $20 to the install cost. So yeh, mandrel bent extractors & 2.5" exhaust (1 box, rear hotdog) are good starting mods. Lowering with at least superlows should be done at the same time if not before the exhaust. A regrind cam is cheap too, bout $150 after postage and you returning your old one. Also quite easy to fit yourself. If its an auto maybe an electronic shift kit.
If you buy all this new you've probably spent $1500 or so by now, most of which on the exhaust (bout $800 installed, otherwise go elsewhere).
EF/El colour coded door handles and mirrors also look tops, then I'd add some fairmont/XR interior goodies like upgraded seats, door trims, cluster, trip computer etc.
Doing a full service of all fluids, leads and plugs probably wouldnt go astray either.
