Young Interest in Club

Postby mad_keen » May 26th, 2010, 1:25 pm

Not really a site support question but its aimed at admin. How did u get so much young interest in this club?

Im part of a club up here and the average age is probably 40-50. Like one cruise was to the RSL for lunch lol, not cool.

How did you guys promote the club when you started out?

I think its the type of car more then anything.
the Club started as an EA club, obviously EA's were cheap, it then expanded and took in EA-ED
followed by EF/EL

then 3ish years ago we rebranded to Boosted Falcon.

In my opinion its a product of the cars we drive, young people buy eseries as P platers, and now as the upper spec AU's and BA/BF's etc get cheaper and easier to go quicker, younger people are getting into those.

Probably helped by the fact that it was always 'run' by younger people.

I first became active in the club when i was 18, Sunny was like 15 or something :P

My dad's in a Morris Minor club, and the average age is probably around the 40-50 mark.

Its a performance ford club. But yer i think Im one of 3 younger members (under 20) and we all have e-series cars.

How old are u now? lol :P

But then again theres only like 50 members. Compared to this its tiny!

Did u advertise anywhere or just word of mouth?

i'm 26.
We gained a lot of members because we were affiliated with AFF until 3.5 years ago.
so any eseries owners on there would sorta join because it seemed obvious.

other then that, we don't advertise apart from being at events/cruises/shows etc

I've actually sent a few people here from youtube, funnily enough - every once in a while someone sends me a message on there asking how to make their car faster, and I give them this URL :)

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

And any possible good he has done is more than negated by the crimes he has committed against humanity by fitting those wheels to his car.
