tapatalk... worth it?

Postby Rollin » August 16th, 2013, 10:52 am

Just got a shiny new phone, Galaxy S4. Love it, seems to be able to handle the Internet version of boosted no dramas.

What's the go with tapatalk? Does it require less data than the full version? What are the benefits and drawbacks?

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Its basically just easier to use on a smaller screen, its an alternative interface designed with bigger menus/buttons/etc. Probably does use less data since its not loading all the pictures/etc.

Lol dan fkn hell what were you using before? Pidgeons and telegrams?
Was your old phone cracking the shits with boosted?

I don't use tapatalk cause I don't like the look of it.
Maybe this thread will change my mind.

It's all I use. So easy to use and upload pictures.

I think it would have to use less data, not that there would be much anyway.

It's good for fast loading speeds. I haven't bothered with it since being a mod though because it couldn't do everything I wanted it to before, so doubt it will have all the mod tools.

I'd like to be proven wrong though, but CBF finding out myself.

There is a newer version available now too. My 2 year old out dated brick can't get it though.

I tried it a few months back, didn't like it.
I used appcake on the iPhone to give it a crack to see what it was like.
Main thing was the lack of multiple windows (could have just been me), and I don't like 2 interfaces for the same forum.

Nstg8a, I dunno about that! I repair phones.
iPhone 5's seem to be much more resilient to drops as the screen isn't pronounced like the i4, which I see a truckload of.
S3 and S4 seem to have a lot more full LCD failures, I've seen a few that haven't even had cracked screens but have a dead LCD from a drop.

Yeah I knew i4s were shocking for screens, interesting about the s4's you've been getting, I guess with a near un breakable screen the impact has to go somewhere.

Gorilla glass definitely isn't unbreakable. I get a lot of Samsung s3/4 and notes. I read a comparison between the s3 and i5 when the apple was new and in nearly all drops the s3 faired considerably worse. They did a range of heights and different landing angles.
I probably do 10 i4s to every s3 or s4, then half as many i5s again. In the last month or two I reckon I've done more s4 than s3 too.

Just a glass replacement I charge $120 for an s4, $100 for an s3, and $70 for an iPhone 4.
Parts are cheap but it takes quite a while to split the galaxy screens, and the iPhone is a one piece screen (costs 3x as much) but it's just unscrew then reassemble, no heat gun.
If you bust the LCD on either galaxy you're up for way more.

Misk - used a PC because PC's are awesome!

OED666 - No plans to drop the S4 as yet, I quite like it! As a matter of fact I might just possibly buy some form of cover or case for it, which would be the first time I have EVER purchased an accessory for a phone in the ~13 years I've had one. Nothing fancy, I saw one on ebay for about $8 which looked the goods
