In the build/Showroom forums and a timeslip database?

Just wondering, is it possible to change (and would anyone else want to change?) the above mentioned forums so the OP's posts are all kept together in an opening post or something similar? Basically so you can see all the changes done to the car, and don't have to scroll through heaps of pages to find one pic or bit of info. People can then comment/ask questions below and the OP can answer questions and stuff while keeping a section of the thread for the info and pics.

The closest example I can think of off the top of my head is the way cardomain is setup, although I'd imagine that exact style of setup couldn't be integrated into the forum very easily.

The other thing I was thinking, is it hard to add a timeslip database like we got added to AFF? I know they use a different forum programme thingy so it might not be so easy.

I have an excellent understanding of the CBF Factor, so I don't expect these changes to happen any time soon, especially if it involves more than about 10 mouse clicks :P

i'm pretty sure they have 'garage' type addons.

but it makes it a little more seperate from the forum, I'll look around and see what there is.

that would be an awesome mod!, it's now all up to john to see if it is do-able and whether he wants to do it :P

Timeslip database sounds good - dunno about messing with build threads or showroom though, might make all the existing ones quite random and unreadable without massive editing...

yeah, there is a garage addon, but it sorta removes it from the forum.
probably easier for those who are making the build threads, but its not overly suited to replies/discussion etc.

still be worth it though, for people who have a build thread that keeps going on and on.

The dyno, 1/4 and circuit sections are pretty cool IMO.

The problem I see with the garage section (and it's already happening on there) is people list every single tiny mod done to the car so the number of modifications is high, but don't fill the info boxes out, so you don't really get any information, except how many pieces a bodykit has. Didn't FF.com have a similar garage feature back in the day?

yeah they did.
i dont think ppl would use it to its fullest extent and i reckon they'd get ignored abit.

Part One
If you could add a link to the garage page under the avatar ...(con't below)

Part Two
...and maybe a symbol system (like little smiles, but parts of car, eg head, diff etc) to show what has been modded - any body with questions could see that and view that garage. (Probably a lot of work for little gain thou)
