I'm betting it will be shit. Australian car shows are soft, and it won't have the chemisrty between the presenters like the original.

It'll probably be another shithouse aussie car show. It'll probably have none of the ingredients that make Top Gear so good either.

What it needs is:
1) super exotic cars getting the shit thrashed out of them
2) presenters giving each other crap
3) all the boy's toys Top Gear get to play with

I agree totally with the above two posts, they'll probably ruin by getting Glenn Ridge or whatever his name is to present it.

i think their main problem will be trying to make a good car show but trying to come up with new ideas to not copy top gear.
i personaly dont like 5th gear and i think this may very well end up the same.
there is not enough cars that uk top gear cant already do a story on really.

but none the less i think it will be worth a watch anyway.

I agree with the above 5 posts... How will they test the cars on our roads? Probably end up reviewing Sirions and Barinas....

The guys on the british version seem to feel free to say what's on their mind, do skids, modify/mangle cars to within an inch of their life, break the national road speed limit, etc etc etc. It may be off road, but it's still filmed and shown on free to air TV.

Can you imagine the uproar in the press if something like that was shot in Australia?

Any modern performance car will comfortably break 200km/h within a limited length of track, I'd guess most FPV/HSV products would clear 270 with enough room... Can anyone say "Supercar Scare"?

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, and am disapointed with the lack of Aussie built stuff on the british show, but the simple facts of the matter are:
Either the show will fail epically through overbearing PC, or worse, they'll kill they Australian factory performance car scene.

It's happened before, and imho, is easily capable of happening again.

I know one of the 4000 bloke game enough to put in an application to become a presenter.

he Trashed a Cortina around a paddock
And bagged the shit out of his BA XR6 Turbo around a grass racetrack.

I hope its ok.
