Bush the top section of the firewall on falcons does nothing except hold the plenum cover up and stop water falling into the engine bay, so running a brace back there wouldn't do anything...I'd already thought of it and had a look to see if it would help...

Another technique commonly used by drifters is to wrap your hand around your penis in a fist like shape. Stroke from top to bottom repeatidly. Adjust speed and stroke length accordingly to feel.

Yeah, that's one way to go about it.

Or you could just go and dive into a bucket of aids.

i did it @ winton with a guesstimated 140rwkw hittin 3rd cog up the straight. as long as u can steer a car n do the RIGHT mods u could do it in just about anything. having said that i came home and said its time for a turbo mainly coz i cant keep up with my mates in thier 300kw vls. once the snail is setup i'll be concentraing on the suspension

having a manual would make it 11ty times easier with less power though...
i would need to rely on weight shifting alone to get some slides going lol

Cartz, throw some nitrous on there and see how you go. If that's not enough, then go to the expense and effort of turbo.

I remember drifting at Powercruise (2005 I think it was) when my ED was n/a. I just had a baby cam, exhaust, K&N panel filter and a spool with a manual of course. It did pretty well for n/a, got it to hold 3rd gear around turn 6 a QR with 185/60/15's on the back. I remember thinking to myself, "another 50hp would do". Somehow, between thinking that and taking a spanner to the car I had bought a turbo kit and lost my way a little. Wish I had just tried nitrous first, would have been so much cheaper and easier.

I was doing mad (well...for a given definition of mad...) weight-transfer initiated slides in the NC on the way home from Graceville tonight. I had no choice but to use that method as the throttle cable is stretched so it has much less power than stocker, and I had my toolbox and 4 19" rims with tyres on them in the boot and in the rear passenger footwells :D

I'm sure it lasts longer than that. In any case you can have more than one bottle in the boot plus you don't need it to be on all the time either, only at 100% throttle which you wouldn't need to be at all the time considering the extra power you'd have. If you start running out of puff have another stab at full throttle for a bit and off you go.
I'm not saying it's the best option, I'm saying I'd like to try it or see someone try it out as a cheaper option than turbo, who knows, maybe it'd be enough.
I'd do it myself but I don't have a falcon nor any money anymore.

Re: Setup your car for drifting....

I think the problem with nitrous is it's not a good idea to get on and off the throttle with it, it can cause backfires through the intake and stuff. Maybe if you had port injected n2o and a really good controller for it you could get away with it...

You could just put a windsor in if you wanted more power.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.
