entering burnout comp for fun way to waste 3.9 cpi before en

Postby my5.0l » October 26th, 2011, 6:46 pm

hi just wonder if anyones got any tips the car is ea falcon 3.9 cpi

its actually the race car im building but want to blow the 3.9 up and kandos is now eligible for non engineered or registered cars so what better way?

its light because its already stripped, its minispooled, t5

im getting a alloy radiator, got el thermos

thinkin 4.11s

water spray on the radiator ?

engine oil cooler

it has a brake bias adjuster but will probly completely remove the back break lines as i want as little resistance as possible

as its a racecar its all gauges and warning lights so thats covered

do manual gearbox temps need to be monitored do they get hot?

keep in mind ill be using the racecar for powercruises and events like that aswell so it will see alot of skid duties with the new motor aswell

any other tips/ ideas?

it will be videoed and will enter every event the car lasts long enough to do as much as i dont care wen the motor blows i want to put on a good show

any secret tricks?

some ive heard

soak ur tyres in diesel

4wd tyres

extra water capacity

circuit or track sump for extra bafflin i beleive

a tap to shut of back brakes as apperantly the linelockers dont work that great

turbo it or dont bother

2nd gear skids are boring

real smoke is made from high wheel speed not big tyres n soaking tyres in diesel

delete the back brakes all together

i think your missin the point im not tryin to win summernats, i want to have some fun and kill a 3.9 cpi in the process

and makin a carby hat fit a standard 3.9 cpi just for one skid is gayer then elton johns boyfriend.

turbo it or dont bother? mate lots of n/a cars rip good skids if i wanted to be completely serious i wouldnt use anything but a v8

second gear is fine as i said its not summernats all anyone wants to see is smoke wether it be from the failed head gasket or tyres

you can change the wheel speed by using different size tyres

and lets face it no1 ever cares what skid you can pull unless its a noisy v8

so no i wont waste my turbo on a motor i want to kill

as for 2nd gear id be surprised if it will spin second its a 3.9 cpi ,limiter in first might have to do lol

have you been on a pad before? ive seen many cars that can pull a mean skid on the road not even be able to spin on the wet patch it gets pretty sticky

i thought there may have been someone on here with a dedicated burnout e series

Well if your willing to look like a p plate vn driver on a burnout pad goodluck
your second to last line said it all. no big clouds are embarrising on a pad. i have had many mates build up fairly staunch cars that are crap on the pad
there is a dedicated eb burnout car on here, he is now boosted.

im sure ill get smoke im not entering to win

i am also not going to turbo this motor

the car itself is not a dedicated burnout car and never will be

oh and also being embarrissed on a pad is going to happen wether you have a good car or not .

Just offering my opinion as you asked people for it

I hate seeing shit heaps on the burnout pad, waste if time seeing almost stock cars do skids especially 6 cylinders

Josh_EF your a wanker.

my5.0l, clamp your rear brakes, do several donuts in first then try for second.

Once your in second put your foot on the brake and stay in the same spot to get the tires nice and hot, then go back to donuts. Hold it flat, don't ever let off lol. Make sure you flat change too.

Keep the revs up lol.
If you want smoke over fill it with oil. Cut the exhaust short to make it sound better.
Hold foot flat and dump clutch.
If the t5 in the car is good I have a noisey box you can destroy!

If the cat isn't punched out already definitely do that. Have the fans running before you even start the car, and make sure the car is cold before you start, don't let it idle and warm up, it just preheats everything and makes it overheat faster (unless you want it to overheat on purpose, then ignore that lol).

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Or roll through the water and stop on the dry, stick it in second, rev limiter side step the clutch and straight onto the brakes. Smoke will happen pretty quick.
There is no point in wasting time in first gear.

at the end of the day i dont care if it blows up and im sure it will but i wont warm it,

i havnt molested the cat yet but will do.

im hopin i might get a grass event aswell out of it but id doubt it lol.

good idea with the fans, every other year ive been there its been stinkin hot

ive been thinking about also hooking another water bottle up to spray on the radiator or will that cause more harm?

the only problem i can think of, is with only having the front brakes working doing donuts, if i mess up im not going to stop at all lol.

First gear in an EA isn't going to be fun, you might as well just park the thing and put a brick on the accel pedal.
But hey if you don't want people to comment don't start threads?

I reckon the CFI might be able to get 2nd.

Fucking around with different mods here and there will make it too complicated. I wouldnt worry too much about diff ratios or line lockers. Most Falcon rear brakes have signed off after a 30 second static on the brake.

Just drive it properly and you'll kick some arse. Driving it properly = practice. Should find somewhere quiet and have a practice before the event.

Your on the right track though-

1. Get all the weight out of it
2. Get the most cheap power out of it possible- gut the cat, take the filter element out of the air cleaner, make sure its running properly (basic service, plugs, leads, cap/rotor button, coil, etc)
3. Keep the motor cool
4. Big tyre speed = big smoke, try to run lower profile tyres so they are spinning faster
5. Drive it properly

The last item is the real key. I've seen shitbox cars driven properly put on a far better show than cars with big power driven by a nuffy.

use light truck tyres and old ones been sitting in sun (makes em hard and little grip) if you can load it up on chemi weld will make it last little longer minispool and 4.11 would be ok just make sure to keep revs up in any gear you can

If the revs start dying mash the clutch and acc together and drop clutch again. If it works
