Postby kaino_wankuh_face » October 30th, 2014, 8:49 pm

Hey guys,

new to boosted .. so i figured id drag this over from fm ..

I purchased my EB S1 Gli about 4 years ago as a daily... it was stock car with a T5 conversion
I went through a series of mods while it was the daily but i have only started to really get into it since it come off the road a few months ago

The hoist in the background has been eating falcon funds and time....
But once its finished life will be easy i think ill christen the hoist with a new exhaust for the EB.

the current mod list would consist of...
EF XR6 engine and T5
EF full loom + interia + dash
AU fuel rail and injectors
BA intake
pod in a box mod
king SL-R L-F
modified genie extractors
2.5" extractor back (straight thru)
RECARO seat
mini spool
hydraulic hand brake (in-progress)
BA throttle body (in-progress)
more that i just cant think of ... (Long Day)

Here are some photos of how it sits now...

(sorry about image quality.. my s2 is pathetic)
Tomorrow morning im going to remove and purchase an AUII front end.. hes going to give me everything for $150
including kframe, sub-frame, lca's, spindles, uppers, disks, hubs, rotors, lines, sway bar + mounts and links, power steering rack and the rest so im pretty happy with that..
Tomorrow arvo i have a trip to u-pull-it planned for el2 studs wanna get this done asap...
If anyone has any info about the AU K frame conversion not mentioned in bbq burner's thread i would be all ears..

Cheers Kaino

Looking good!

Some other guy on here has modified his au knuckles for more/quicker lock but hasn't posted pics, if you can dig the thread up he might have some good info for you.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

So today i spent my arvo at my local wrecker getting these out
(wish you could have seen the blokes face when he seen the grinder and genset in my bag on the way out)

Image

These are AU/BA front cross member studs.. Im yet to decide whether im going to use 8x of these or 4xAU/BA for the front and 4xELII for the rear but a decision will be made tomorrow.

Tomorrow morning im going to Kennards hire to see what an electromagnetic drill / broach drill / core drill will cost me for a 24hr hire.. providing i have room on the rail ill use this to drill the EB chassis rails.

Today i was limited with time (damn missus being pregnant) so i spent it drilling spot welds on the unnecessary chassis rail fixtures.

Image

I think im leaning towards the 8xAU/BA stud approach, but ill know tomorrow..

Thanks for looking
hopefully there will be more progress tommorow
cheers kaino

credit to those who drilled thru there crush tubes .. even with a rota broach and a drilling jig ... i gave up and cut a # pattern around the crush tube in the inner guard and removed it .. .
i have decided to go with the el2 studs .. i now have the kframe mounted and i will be working on the front crossmember today.

Yeah I've never wanted to do an au front end for that reason!

ill be back on the car today to start the front cross-member.. its taking too long .. (to many beers) i need to get the car off the hoist...

Cheers Kaino.
