I have a 3.9mpfi with a 4speed auto and it recently started going from 4th to 3rd on the highway at 110km/h does anyone know what could be the cause ?

Also with these electronic shift kits can you program them to make the car chirp nice from 1st to 2nd and even 3rd gear or would you need something more like a mechanical one ?

Whats the price for the mechanical ones like a stage 2 shift kit ?

Thanks.

although u could take the easier way out like me and just do about 75km/h chuck it in first touch the brake, and u can get a pretty cool compression lock up ... its just fun.. in the wet it slide out..

Could possibly be the shifter link needs adjusting? maybe its on the edge and going over bumps and stuff rocking the engine slightly is enough to change between 3rd / 4th?

Probably not likely, but worth a check...

Lol... I have a 3 speed hydraulic auto in my EA. Shift it manually a lot if I'm going to overtake or just wanna give it a boot from around 90km/h.

I flatten my foot and the gearbox doesn't respond, the engine speed just rises reeeeeeeeally slowly. Any slower and it's fine.

Some strange setting I guess. I tested it today, if I flatten it to the floor instantly, it smacks down a gear but if I ease it down, it doesn't. Doesn't bother me much. I kinda like the whole "shift down ya bastard!" *shift manually* lol.

dude, they have to make sure they have a shift light too. You don't want to over rev your fully stock 3.9ltrs.

Make sure you add an electric ebay supercharger for added smash factor.

Lol... And now the bloody thing is slipping... Like it can't make up it's mind what gear to go into, or slipping in and out of neutral.

If the gearbox goes, that's the end of the car. I am not forking out any more money for this thing.
