No good at maths eh?
std rolling diameter ~ 645mm
new rolling diameter ~ 710mm.

Difference of 65mm - therefore car will be 32.5mm higher in the rear.

I said going by his current tyres it will raise the rear by 5cm. I dont see where i went wrong?

height isnt rolling diameter ? wtf ? height of tyre divided by series gives height of rubber X2 plus rim size... right ?

The /55 or whatever is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width of the tyre, ie 205. x2 plus rim size will get you the height = rolling dia.
however if you put a tyre thats 10cm taller than the old tyre you'll raise the car by half that.

Yes, it was, I assumed he was running a normal tyre, and I would put money on it that if he checked it would be.
but yes, your maths was correct, apologies.

they fit ! 275's had to fettle the rear of the arch but ok now... 10m at outside edge space and 50mm inside space so no worries there... i would like to drop its ass more to get them inside the arch but i reckon that might need arch flaring or 255 tyres but when i loaded up threar to check them out, it looked nuts ! half the rubber was up under arch... looked sweet as fack ! 8-) pretty happy with them... so we now knw that 275's will go under..and not hang out although the offset has a lot to do with that..

its all about the offset...275's had 10mm outside and 40mm+inside so scope for more but would depend on offset etc...

the offset of the dragways i have is standard pre au... you will always find there will be more room on the inside with tyres unless your running au offset.. i had au offset 20' wheels with 255 tyres on the back of my fairlane an that thing was very low.. it only scrubbed with a full car load on a roughish road.

the height makes such a big difference because on most falcons they will hit on the back of the wheel arch.. just above the bumper if your running massive tyres.

i had 265/35/18's on the back of my ef and it only ever scrubbed once before i rolled the guards. had standard ba xr 18's with 30mm bolt on spacers. rolled the guards and had had heaps of room. there was also room for another for heaps more on the inside

I'm Tickford ride height on my EL - 265 / 40 / 17's fit no worries. Have some 275's waiting in the wings when the 265s give up the ghost...they're on the EL GTs though...and they haven't been on the car for 18 months - wish the 275's were 18's to suit the current wheels...prolly a bit too wide for 18 X 8 though.
