225's on the stock cepter, you will be able to fit 9-10" wide wheels under the guards if you go aftermarket.
LUXO8 has 18x10's on his LTD with Ultralow springs, so it can be done.

i've got 18x9's on the back of my EF, 265 wide rubber.
it scrubs.
had to hack the guards to stop the scrubbing, still does it with a big load and/or large bump though.

255s fit under stock guards on shortened superlows

My brother has 275/35/18's back and 255/35/18's front on his NL, guards are rolled and its on superlows but it only really scrubs under load.

You need an 8" wide wheel to legally run 255s in QLD but even then they just fit (legally)

ive got 16x7" concorde rims, and just fitted 245/50/16 on the rear. The more common profile for 245's is a 45 series, but they are designed for an 8" wide rim.
but by going slightly higher in profile to a 50 series allows the tyre to suit a 7" wide rim comfortably because of the extra sidewall flex. My point is, it will be an easier & cheaper exercise if you settle for a 245 width, and upgrade to a 16x7" rim as theres heaps floating around in that size, instead of paying stupid amounts to get some trailer rims widened...
new 245's and old 225' next to each other

yeah, getting wider tyres in 15" can be very expensive. Just getting them in 235 width is a fucking ridiculous price. I think it was $160 for "Jetzon" 235/60/15.... $180 for "Bridgestone" and $220 for "Yokohama" in the same size.
my 245's in 16" were $130 each plus fitting/balancing

those wheels have a huge dish, meaning whilst they wont foul the suspension as AU rims do, they will be nearly sticking out the guard.... but looks like a good buy !!
btw, those 275's look ridiculous, and way to big in sidewall profile. Also are too wide for an 8" rim.

this is a 17" 45 profile tyre i had next to the 15" with 15x60x275"s

and a couple of pic's of them with stock 'lane suspention!

the size difference between the front & back will turn your (abs) light on after a few klm's down the road!
the below pic is of same suspention with 19's the night before i got the car lowered.

good luck with your buy!

done a quick chop to give you an idea. btw these tyres will lift the rear of your car by 5cm going by the size of your current tyres

rab wrote:might have to chop rear springs and tuck some arches..

that's why i used second hand tyre's to guage what i could fit

& the guy's where i got the 275's fitted said they wont fit under! they did...but scrub & the (abs) issue.
the one's in the above pic are 50 serie's & had the lip rolled.....as YBYAVL said you have to source some of the hotrod/muscle car type outlet's to get tyre's......unless you put drag radial's or something.

No good at maths eh?
std rolling diameter ~ 645mm
new rolling diameter ~ 710mm.
Difference of 65mm - therefore car will be 32.5mm higher in the rear.
