BA = AUIII with different panels, motors and IRS. Front end, trans, much of the body is the same. Ford just did a good job hiding the AU-ness of the BA lol.

Aren't AU's just temporary E-Series parts holders anyway? :P

I believe that there are AUIIIs with IRS, and have been led to believe that Ford also released (quietly) a few of the last AUs with twin cams in them, not necessarily Barras but with twin cams non the less. B series wagons are all AU wagons with revised front panels, motors, etc, much like the XG/XH utes are still XD utes with revisions

I wouldnt put it past Ford. Obviously they would of been road testing the motors before they built the BA body.

Wouldnt of been sold to public though.

I read that as AU (therefore EA-EL) bottom ends with some type of twin cam head on them, rather than complete BA I6s (Barra) into AUs.

There would have been a few Turbo 6 and quad-cam V8s fitted to the AU for testing, as well as AU's with BA IRS etc. But they would never get sold to the public.

I've got an EA Falcon (Sports S MPFI), that works today much the same it did 22 years ago. It has clocked around 200,000 K and aside from a little neglect, runs beautifully. It is dent free (never an accident), a few rust spots, but in general, it never let me down IN 22 YEARS. The A/c doesn't cool. a rear mirror needs replacing, a few rust spots need touching up and a new paint job plus replace the cracked vinyl dash and you have a sports car not much different to today's cars. It starts better than my Ghia Territory, goes like the clapper, and pulls the crap out of any trailer or caravan or boat, especially as it has the heavy duty limited slip diff. IT HAS A PERFECT TRANSMISSION, WITH ZERO NOISE. It has maq wheels, good tyres, battery and good interior (except the dash), and best of all, it was professionally converted to gas. You flip from petrol to gas in an instant, in fact, you wouldn't now it changed. That's the bad news. Now here is the good news. There's about 40 litres of fuel in the car, worth $60. I'm selling the car for $50 to make thinks legal, but without plates or roadworthy. If you can prove to me you are an enthusiast, or deserving case (low or no income), you can have the car, lock stock and barrel for $1.00 yes, one dollar. You see, if you pay nothing, then a contract of sale cannot exist, and I will legally transfer full ownership to this cause as a contract of sale for one dollar. (PS if your that hard up, I'll give you the dollar). THE CAR IS ACTUALLY REGISTERED TO 5TH FEB 2013, so it shouldn't be to hard to get a roadworthy.

I would love to see this car restored and running like a Swiss watch, to prove the EA pundents wrong. If you are interested and want a good car so bloody cheap, you can sell the parts for a small fortune, then call me on 0419 305 625, and you can view the car at Park Orchards, Victoria, 3114 PC.

This is a genuine offer, and I would sincerely like to help someone in need. Joe Dingli. :D
