WILL'S EB II - wanting turbo

Postby WILLEBII » February 17th, 2009, 2:02 pm

HEY GUYS!!!

I just came across this forum the other day and i am so suprised how many boosted ea - el's there are!

I think i should introduce myself and show you's my project :D
Let me know what yas think ;)

This is what my car looked like the day i got it off my uncle in lou of some work i did for him at his panel beatin shop, i was 16 at the time hence the l plates

1992 Ford EB series 2 falcon S-pac
Auto 4.0L

This car was absolutly stuffed from all the body work that had to be done and both the engine and transmission was definetly past its time.
When i got the car i was also supplied with a written off ED with only 150,000k on the clock which was very well looked after.

My old man and i went down to the panel shop and dumped the engine out of both cars and put the auto transmission and engine from the ED into my car.
(sorry no photos)

The next thing that needed to be done was the body work w
i also had to grab the front and rear passenger doors from the ED

After the all this was done it all got primed, sanded and ready to be painted.
Then the rest of the body got done and prept for painting..

Now heres the car just after it got painted

This is how the car looks today.....

Since this last picture there has been a few other mods i havent taken any pics of but here they are:
T5 conversion
BBM conversion
EL computer
EF dash/interior
Fairmont rear facier
Theromo Fans

Just a quick Question for everyone
is anyone on there p's with the new restrictions boosted there car?
i really really want to do this so does any one know if i can boost without the use of a intercooler even if its just a small amount?

THANKS! :)

holy crap... i've never seen that colour so shiny.
looks fantastic.

i'd recommend a small intercooler atleast, ed40 ran his with out an intercooler for a while, went alright but went much better with one
should be able to hide a small one easy enough :P

Wow! That looks amazing!

If you get an intercooler you could always paint it black to hide it. EB Barbie has a non-intercooled EB (on gas).

Alternatives include water-to-air intercooling (hidden in the engine bay) or water/meth injection, although with the latter you'd have to constantly top it up!

I know you're going for the whole subtle sleeper look, but i'd still go a small intercooler. paint it black and sit it back a bit.
they're pretty hard to spot behind a stock bar.

however, if you don't run an intercooler, make sure you run a VERY good CAI setup.

aww ok yeh i thought u would have to do that but i would rather a intercooler a lot becasue of the amount of power u would gain from it.

what would be the risks of not using a intercooler?
sorry bout the newbie questions just dnt want to suff my car too much

Depends on what you plan on doing regarding engine tune.
No Intercooler and a tune to suit will be ok, probably a bit average when its hot. and you'll be limited in boost.
no intercooler and a factory tune will be pretty crap, as soon as the cars at operating temp it'll feel laggy and you'll more then likely get detenation.

you can setup an intercooler pretty cheap and it provides a bit of leeway if things get hot :P

Thats one mint EB!

I'd keep the car like that, would be an awsome sleeper... them wheels don't look too bad either.

Have you had a look on http://www.snortperformance.com/ ?
There are a couple of people on this forum who have something to do with them... I think it was either big tim or gozza sell their products or something and I think the owner of the bussiness is on here somewhere also... someone should be able to give some names and tell ya about them :P

There are some people on here who have made their own turbo manifolds also... and done turbo installs very cheaply.

Haha inspiration, that would be a first! Lol
I find my car runs fine without the cooler. Its a good first time setup that didnt set me back tooo much. Depends what you want from it. I just wanted to dose and wasnt after power.

Anyway good luck. Paint looks mint btw! Coming along nicely :)
