^ sweeet ride man.. give me you wheels lol..

Well i still got my car, i have almost sold it twice now. the recent was to replace with with my mate seths LTD v8. but couldn't let it go... in saying that i thought his wheels may make a nice addition to the car. so we fitted emm up & liked emm.. better then i thoght they'd look.. so ill leave them  they do need the 245's removed and 225's fitted. the wheel is far more attractive with a smaller tyre slightly stretched. like the fronts are.. anyway & well 1 day ill quest for my dream of Dark agents again (shattered i ever sold my last set" but this time ill get d agent 20's

only pic i got atm. will do an update after i finish doing a couple things :)

Hey steve, ohh really? i didnt see ya there or notice ya car what that in the ba you were there? how did ya go? i was just running mine before i did any changes beside the wheels i fitted. a benchmark for my times etc.

Yeah i was going to get seths ltd. reminded me of your old rig. which i liked. but the car needed abit more then i had time for. an my car already being upto scratch. i decided to get the wheels, and just keep daily mine. im going to help seth sell his ltd and fix up the little things it needs. already done a heap to it for me "but now its for him"

yeah my wagons a good thing, very clean restored resprayed all that. 13b bridgeport engine. i also put a costly set of gold FR17 simmons on it also. so its a nice all rounder for the weekend rotor powered vehicles that ill never get away from :D ill put a couple pics up if people dont mind.

just left work early and went to look for a exhaust quote etc.

i really dont want a dirty cat back exhaust for it. i just want a nice tip really... all though as mentioned a slight note would be nice. looks like ill have to hack it an go all out p plater spec and get a redback 2.5 an be done with it. aparently its all in the main center muffler that ill get my note. a muffler less tail pipe will do stuff all "apparently"

just need to decide. twin 2.5's or twin 3" striaghts with rolled ends. chrome. im also thinking angle cut not pipe length for off set bars. but just down. if that makes sence. theres abit of space in the bumper so hmmm..

2x 2.5's probably plenty for the gap.

ill see how it pan's out.

Cheers. Paul.

paul, if you run just a single standard muffer in the middle it will give you a good quiet note.
a redback will be too loud with the auto and will drone like a ****.
a redback with a small rear muffler in the rear would be good.
mine at the moment is full 3" with high flow middle muffler and high flow rear muffler and its quite good and not too loud, but i have no cat.

Re: My Champagne EF Fairmont Now on 20" mnm diesels

Postby IDORI » November 4th, 2010, 12:05 pm

heres a you tube walk around vid. this is my new set up. un tuned. but same engine. befor had a standard carby. engine fan. 2 coils and distributor. now its new weber set up (all jetted for good HP), also running a microtech for the ignition from a late model rx7. full sequential fire ignition. eg 1 coils per plug. 16" thermo fan with a custom polished shroude i made. gilmer belt drives. nickle plated chrome alternator off a series 5. so its an 80amp upgrade. all riring upgraded to take it etc. i had no taco so i also got a pro shift light autometer mounted inside the car. with a tablet for rmp setting. ro retain the original dash etc. and the stereo is in the glov box retaining the am radio on dash and all original trim's etc.

and some other odd's and ends.

i raced it single spinner diff on the 17's no burn out "axle tramps like ****" and stock carb engine fan blah like i mentioned. did best of a 14.6 at 96mph & a 2.3 or 4 60ft. car had no taco so guess reving. and gear ratio's and wheel size have me 3rd gear flat out over the line. n/a's need diff gears specialy rotas lacking low rpm torque. so diff gears and some traction links to prevent tramp even single spinner. i could get a low or high high 13. with out the mods. with doing that plus the new power once its tuned. expecting 200hp to the treads. if i can get it all together eventualy and take it back out. i hope for a 13.5 to 13.0 true naturally aspirated 1.3lt how i drive it on the road. : ) plenty enough with no turbo this time round.

any way ill get some pics. vid dont do the justice.

i will detail it nice once i know were good for no rain. summer nights etc. :) hope to have the exhaust & tip done shortly. new side indicators and another new set of headlights by then. also want a ghia badge for the rear. that sits next to the fairmont badge. get my high series moulds sprayed soon and fit the clear side repeaters. & 1 day (maybe some el ghia molds with chome strips.) if i find one for wrecking. have a mocha ltd leather steering wheel for it to go on. in vgc.

thats about it!

Oh and a pic for a laugh. before i sold my agents a while back. quick dummy up.

Cheers fellas, thanks for the comments, & mad keen yeah i tend to agree.. these wheels are no replacment to my agents. i will buy a new set of 20" gunmetal dark agents soon enough!! belive me. its the only wheel for that car hehe.. but the bboss style will do for now. then ill sell emm off, anyway im happy with how they look and fit, looked better then i though :D , i also trimed the rear wheel arches and re painted them rust preventer etc etc. have me an extra inch almost. i can slip my fingers between the tyre and arch's no problems now. scrubed home before i did it tho. had to drive at 80 on east link lol.. smooth road. so thats with the big spacers about 2" and 245's on the rear. an i got all that clearence.

my idea for the 20" agents is stay with spacers an get the au > offset. but get staggered rim size that they offer now. 8's for the front. and 9.5's for the rear. stretch a 245 on them. it will look wild! & fronts will sit like normal. thats the plan. and then the wheels are usable once i upgrade beond an eseries. one day :)

Cheers. Paul.
