ash if your interested in going again use the handbrake along with the regular brakes so u can stall it up more without them spinning...... but then more likley to spin once you release, but a little bit of controlled spin off the line is better than spinning before u launch....I reckon anyway hahaha...

do you remember your 60'times?

2.19 on the quickest run, nowhere near quick enough. I probably won't go back to the track until I've had it tuned..

^^ Cheers Dylan, it's getting there!

Update:

So in the everlasting pursuit of Mint I've replaced a couple of things that I thought were letting the car down.

The side repeaters had gone a bit yellow and cloudy and I reckon new lights keep cars looking younger.

Out with the old..

In with the new..

Not long after I bought the car a few years ago, the skirt badges started to peel and look shit. I debated as whether I should replace them or just take them off. In the end I decided to replace so I can keep the car mostly original.

Looking pretty ordinary, eh?

Next up I'll probably get the front bar resprayed and some scratches fixed at the panel beaters.

Small update time.. Following on from this thread. I got Nizpro to have a look over the car today to check if everything was in order because the performance felt a bit off. They spent a while checking it out and put her on the dyno and summarised that everything is up to spec. Due to the car being untuned and having the phoon cooler it's taking a little while longer to build boost. It made 196rwkW, so it's pretty healthy for a stocker. They're going to email the dyno graph so I'll chuck it up when I get it.

In the way of mods I haven't really touched it this year, other than the addition of a new tow bar last week  We didn't want to have to use the girlfriends VT for towing trailers and the bike rack etc and it was only $290 fitted and wired, which I thought was alright.

I toyed with the idea of selling it recently but when I make a list of all the features I want/need in a car I keep coming back to either XR6T or SS so I might as well keep it for a couple more years.

Pretty much a standard power figure, shows its healthy tho. how many Ks has it done?

You'll love it if you get a tune done :)

137k mate, it's good to finally be in a position to tune it!

Three and a half years is a bloody long time to keep one of these things stock!!

For a while now I've been wanting to fit some thicker sway bars to this thing. Looking through eBay a couple of weeks ago and I spotted a new Whiteline 27mm fixed position front sway bar that was going pretty cheap. I chucked on a bid and got it about $103 delivered. Bargain!
Image
Yesterday I got around to fitting it. Unfortunately getting this car on ramps is a front bar off job. Ever since I fitted the phoon intercooler the horn hasn't been working properly so I was able to kill two birds with one stone and reposition the horn while the bar was removed.Image
Out with the old.
Image
The Whiteline one is noticeably heavier and thicker.
Image
All done. It's a fairly easy job and I reckon if you had access to a hoist it would take all of 10 minutes tops.Image

First impressions are good, it feels a bit sharper. I'll source a rear sway bar soon to complete the package.

Looks good Ash, great bargain too. I bought one of Whiteline's strut braces for my VT and had no regrets.

Can't wait to see the tuning results, the good thing about waiting this long is that the tuners all have plenty of experience by now. Keep us posted.
