On FM theres been a few, but none of which that I can remember were EFs...
Kinda turns me off an AU motor knowing it still happens...
Ah well Timmy, you'll get it sorted I'm sure.

Thanks mate. I just spoke to the mechanic and ased him how the progress is going. He said that amazingly the only problem they can find is the 2 gears that caused the problem were broken and nothing else was damaged.
I told him to go over the oil pump and make sure theres nothing suss goin on in there which may have caused a slight jam which led to the teeth snapping off. All the internals look fine, bearings look in good condition etc..
Car should be ready by tuesday if the can get their hands on some more gears.
The fun continues...

Small update.
Engine is back in after having the oil pump pulled off and inspected for faults. Nothing wrong with it apparently so will get the car back tomorrow.

New problem, radiator has a small leak. :yahoo:

1) remove radiator

2) replace with 600x300x75 intercooler, and appropriate attachments.

at least your car will be reliable now.

you cant trust motors from the wreckers.

but sometimes you can get a good deal and it will last for ever.

I'm glad someone else has a money pit...

Umm... I've had three AU engines in this car all running a dizzy... BUT i brought one dizzy for the engines, bcoz the dizzy i pulled off the el block had some slack. Maybe the sensor your putting back in has some slack, and due to the different wear patterns on the shaft/dizzy it caused it to break...? If you kept the au sensor when the engine swap was done then to me the break makes no sense.

Anyway just thought i'd throw it out there, could be something worth checking... could save you 900 odd bucks, for a five min job! ;)

I got a P/D kit suit AU motor.... I know how much you nag everyone else to get one... Everything needed to bolt straight on... ;)
