Certainly too many commodores getting around on 18's that arent lowered.. Far as I see it, just another reason to dump it on its guts..
Cars will always be getting lowered.

Yeah just saw another LTD lowered on the way to work. A now must do. Removed the mudflaps but man driving in rainy weather dirties up those rear and front side panels. I see that even if I lower a LTD a little bit its still going to be high. keep everyone posted and new picks soon with the tint.

Ozzy Tyres quote about $750 to get new springs and shocks (where I bought the wheels, and they are 18's by the way). I spoke to a guy briefly who has a similar Fairlane who just lowered the front and took the fuse out that controls the variable suspension at the back on these models and his sits low and he said he saved a few bucks. But that doesn't sound right to me. handling concerns etc. Any advice and does price sound right.
I really possess little knowledge about modding especially engines but my god this car gets going only at about 80-90 KPh where acceleration just seems to leap in after the sluggish start and before you know it goes boom.
It has done 200 000 K's and a few teething problems with a airflow sensor $350, the car just stopped in the boondocks at 1am in the morning coming back from a gig in Taree and some plastic gears in the rear end of the transmission that control the speedo and engine management another few hundred made me feeling like I bought a lemon. But it is a beautiful car to drive. And I have had no problems since.
Anyway guys thanks for the comments and the wheels get lots of envious looks from the BA drivers around town.

With mudguards removed and some interior shots. New Kenwood deck.

Its pretty dirty and lots of rain lately in Newcastle but it comes up brighter under a polish.

Anyway thanks guys, for all your advice.

I assume a thumbnail and some hard work. Is there a product that helps.

Lookin good there Blunt can't wait to see it lowered & yes loose the pin striping i did mine last week using a hair dryer & thumbnail took about an hour but the last bit i got to in front of rear wheel arch the pin striping was under the clear coat took a bit of light sanding to make it look tidy. With lowering ur car its up to u how much u was to spend i was cheap lol just brought 2nd hand springs & with the self leveling suspention just disconnect it u won't need it if ur running kings...... & yes there very slugish for a V8 mine is the same don'tget going till the revs get high up but i am actually surprised i took a ef XR8 5 speed for a test drive the other day & it didn't seem that much quicker then the LTD i was shocked i would have thought the XR's had little more balls than that. Maybe it was a dud..... :D

EF XR8's as a stock car were actually slower down the 1/4 mile that the EF XR6, so it's not suprising that it didnt feel all that fast.

Oh guys that pinstripe removal is painful. Once you remove the stripe you still have some glue residue. I have only done half the car but it is a real pain in the arse. Any other tips. I guess some polish or mild cutting compound. I am employing my sons thumbnail and lighter touch once the stripe gets a roll on and paying some pocket money. And my cheap hair dryer keeps cutting out... LOl.

Latest not much happening, removed the pinstripe and mudguards. Looks a bit smoother I do admit.

Went to get tinting and it has some on it as opposed to a good friend of mine that said it did not. So the extra 2 hours and extra $100 stopped the process on that date. I will reconsider. It still needs that back down. That suspension is next.

Have a great new year guys. Long live the E and I guess the D.
