Hektik boost gauge install bro! lol.

Just take car rotating the maf, it will in most cases change the tune because it'll measure the air a little differently. It's probably only in the lower load/rpm area's and thats why it sounds like its got a cam now. Makes it a bit harder because you can't adjust the tune yourself but you could rotate it around to find the best spot while adjusting the tune to suit?

lol, even more hektik as it doesn't even work properly! :P

Nah, it was idling like this before I spun the MAF around, Dion said it would when I picked it up. Plus, it was like only a quarter turn anyway. Just did it to position the loom plug to better hide the wiring below. Doesn't feel any different anyway. In fact, I just got home from NYE down the coast, and got 320kms to half a tank of premium! Still loves the freeway, just no good around town.

lol, yeah, that would be the right foot at fault there! Speaking of wasting fuel, I have had my stupidest idea yet of wanting to compete in a burnout comp! :banghead: I mean, how hard could it be? I have always wanted to cut sick properly one day. Two minutes or so of epic smashing couldn't hurt too much right? :?

Lol go to heathcote and get crazy on the burnout pad up there... will give you a bit of an idea how the car will go. It can be prety hard on your car tho it'll get hot, hard on the clutch and shit too.
Make sure you film it!

Oh yeah? That's sick! I'll have to check it out next time I'm up there.

You know what, it actually doesn't tramp when cutting hoops, even in second. It only used to tramp when I tried to launch it hard off the line. I've already destroyed a couple of pairs of stockies without an issue. I think the tramp only happens when I try to minimise the wheel spin.
I know the clutch will hate it, but as you said, I consider it a dispensable item anyway. So be it, as long as I can get home afterwards I'll be happy! :P

Meh, I don't care that much, just be something cool to do if I get a free weekend and there is a comp on somewhere. Avalon website says there is a Burnout Test n Tune on Sunday 29th of Jan, could be a goer!

For sure man, will do. Got four 16's waiting to get destroyed! Got my Driver Dynamics Advanced Car Handling day this Sunday too. So I wouldn't mind not busting the car before then, might have to wait till after that! :P

Apparently there is a Police Driver Training facility up in Tullamarine somewhere, I have the details at home. Going by the info and video on their website, it looks like a skid pan with sprinklers in it that constantly wet the concrete. Has the potential for epic hilarity! :D

Naaw, dang, and here I was getting all excited! :P Thanks for the heads up anyway Tim. Should be fun either way, sliding around and not having to look over the shoulder for the fuz!

Anyway, on a different note, LEATHER SICKNESS!

Image Image Image Image

Another rash purchase from good old ebay. Picked them up from a bloke up near Seymor who wrecks Fords. Came out of a series 3 Fairlane Ghia. They aren't in the best condition, they were filthy as hell. Took me a good half an hour per seat to clean them up. I ain't complaining though, especially as I got them for all of $200!! :D He even threw the door trims and silver handles in as well! Probably not going to put the trims on though, for a couple of reasons. They are in pretty bad condition, plus the wood grain spears will clash with the rest of my blue/black interior. Oh, and the drivers seat is electric, and the loom was already there! Bonus! :)

Thanks blokes, I'm pretty stoked with how they came up! They are bloody comfy as, I feel like Franco Cozzo now! :P Well, lasted all of a couple of hours, couldn't help myself. The door trims are now on also! I cleaned them up cos I was bored, and they came up decent also, so chucked em on. I must say, the fake wood doesn't look as out of place as I thought. Plus I love the little lights on the front trims!

Nice work man, did yours come from a Fairlane of a Fairmont Ghia? The rear seats I got don't quite fit properly, I am still using the cloth bolsters and the backs don't lock in cos they are off like 5mm!

Yeah, I was very happy to discover that my car has the looms for both door lights and the electric seat! Saved me a hell of a lot of stuffing around.

mine were out of a fairmont ghia, au2. everything bolted straight in, but no looms for seat or lights. seat is easy, its just a ground and power feed anyway.

Carbon wrap is a good idea. Or maybe even a satin silver, BA styles?

Meh, the wood is growing on me actually. The camera makes it look brighter than it is, plus the steering wheel is the only blue trim left anyway, and even that is pretty dark. I think I'm going to leave it. Thanks for the comments guys. :)

Had my driving day today, and Tim was right, that place is pretty useless. Too small, and the skid pan was shithouse. The only thing I learned from today was that I got more enjoyment out of grip/race style driving than trying to drift. I am like tits on a bull when it came to the skid pan, didn't enjoy it at all. :banghead: My favourite part was the little race track they set up with a few corners, finding the best line and hitting the apex. It has inspired me to book a proper track day with them, which I believe the run out at Sandown. Might have to look into making this thing handle first though! :P

oh yeah apparently the easiest way round the bolster issue is to take the leather off the 'lane bolsters and re wrap your originals, pretty simple shape so it should be straight forward.

The guy I bought it all off said the same thing about the bolsters, but they might require some form of stitching or securing to my bolsters, which is why I haven't bothered looking yet. That is a job for another weekend when I have time.

I was really happy to discover the the looms already there, saved a hell of a lot of swearing I can tell you! :P

Josh, I have the vid on my computer, but I took it in 720p so it's like 110mb! Plus it was hella windy yesterday, so you can't hear the car as much as I would have liked. I'll show you next time I come round. We'll have to catch up for stockie thrashings soon, I got the itch! :P
Oh, and sway bars have now graduated to next on my purchase list, will see if I can fit them in after pay day next week.
