yes well ive had a bit of a break from this car for a month or so,

but now im at trade school again, so i am getting back into it.. the past week myself and 2 mates one whos an apprentice fitter and turner and another whos a dedicated welder have been working on gettin this little peice of pipe made up to go on outlet of the turbo it has to be the tightest 90 degree bend, to tight to just bend out of 2.5 inch as it will cause it to kink, one of the blokes machined up the flange to fit the turbo for me after work and the other is helping me dummie the pipe up then he's going to take it in and TIG weld it all up nicely for me, we're aiming to get that done by the end of week fingers crossed,

also ive put the new fuel reg on it, ive got a bosch 040 sitting in my room ready to go in and then it should be running for the w.e. following that I have a lsd to rebuild and put in, i picked it up with a 5 speed conversion but i think for now atleast im just goin to buy my electronic adjustible shift kit back off my mate (which i took out when i was goin to sell the car) and solder it back in.

...ohh and i have white veneitians arriving tomorow morning ;-)

Yeh plans are to have standard ecu J3 chipped and tuned in april, most likely gunna get CVE to do it. Bigger injectors will go on before i get it chipped. im hoping to get a Nizpro plenum sometime around then also, maybe a few months after.. i may need to tee that up as a 19th b'day present haha

If you go see Micheal at Advanced Automotive Services (next to carline mufflers) he is getting set up for tuning the J3 chips. I'll be getting him to do minewhen hes ready.. saves having to take the car to melbourne..

Got my mate to take it for a drive for me yesterday, and was all goin good and I was quite happy with it, except for one thing it starts to breakdown and start missing badly at full throttle, I haven't upgraded the fuel pump yet, got a bosch 040 to go in will most likley do this saturday but it doesn't feel like a lack of fuel problem though... but ill look into it more on the weekend

gap the plugs to 0.8mm and set the timing to 8 deg BTDC, you will need bridge the the two pins under the dash to set the timing.. do this it will fix the breaking down, i had the same thing happen to mine when i first did it..

Well i havent updated this for a while, and thats mainly becasue i havent done much, but im now motivated to finnish of the fuel side of things so i can have it fully driveable, so tonight i pulled my fuel pump & carrier out of it and im going to put my bosch 040 into that tomorow with a bit of modifying, also i went to enzed today and got a pressure gauge 2 brass fittings and used them along with some hose and clamps i had at home to make up a pressure gauge so i can read what pressure its at when i go to set my base fuel pressure.

How ive got it is the standard regulator had the vac line disconected and blocked off, so that should let it stay open 100% of the time and let fuel flow straight through it and into the malpassi which will control fuel pressure in accordance with the boost pressure, the malpassi reg has the boost referance line come from cooler piping near the throttle body, in theory this should work.. i think, correct? is this how other people have done it? any help is much appreciated

Also what base fuel pressure do people usually set when running 8psi? i just need to get it roughly correct so i can take it and chuck it on the dyno and check the afr's, then spend a few hours or so on the dyno runing it and adjusting over and over untill i get the air fuel ratio as spot on as i can ;-)

Leave the standard reg connected! If you disconnect it, it will close resulting in full fuel pressure.

If leave the standard one connected, the malpassi will only cut in when it needs too.

Also base fuel pressure should be on 45psi@idle, then it should rise from there on boost. On full boost 8psi I would think you'd need around 65psi.

Yeah ive been meaning to get on here just haven’t found time, well last friday i chucked it on the dyno to check the afr's and it was/is leaning out when under boost still, ive just got malpassi rising rate reg and bosch 040, but ive got a few weeks holidays so im planning to get some sort of tune either a j3 in the next few weeks, already been down and talked to Michael at AAS i can drop it down there on the 10th of May and leave it there for him to have finished by the end of the week

I was also told to go and see CSV to check out what they could do for me just to keep my options open, he wants me to go a 4l surge tank, external pump, bigger fuel supply lines, 42lb injectors and turbosmart reg, then do the standard ECU as long as it can work with a 2 bar o2 sensor if not he reckons a aftermarket ECU preferably an Autrontic. So for now ive just been thinking about it a bit not in a great rush wouldn’t mind having it sorted by the end of my holidays though ;-) but im just going to neaten up a few things on it during the week and suss it all out
