Antwons EBII XR6

Postby Antwon » June 23rd, 2009, 9:26 pm

Hey names Anthony (mates call me Antwon), im 17, from Adelaide, this is my car:

It's a 1992 EBII XR6:
- ED side badges and boot garnish
- AU 17" Tickford replicas
- Superlows
- 2.5" exhaust with chrome dump tip
- Nothalane front camber kit & bushes
- Sony DVD player, with JVC speakers
- Dark tint
- Re-spray
- Factory cruise control
- Dual fuel
- Clear front indicators
- Clear AU repeaters
- Half finished boot install
- Rebuilt engine

My plans are:
- Re-tint wondows
- Red walls to go with red stripe
- Finish off the boot install
- Get the steering wheel recovered because its damaged at the top, so the previous owners put tape around it lol
- Extractors
- EL/AU engine
- Manual conversion
And ill add more things to the list with time.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Hahahaa my steering wheel isnt going anywhere. Are the momo wheels leather or just like fake stitching? cant really tell with mine. if its real leather i want to get it recovered in black leather with suede at the top and bottom the same colour as the consol lid, which i also want to re-cover in suede.

Also are the momo wheels standard or optional? heard they were standard on EBs and optional on EDs

As far as I am aware they were optional on both. Think they might have been standard on ED XR8 Sprints as they cost a alot more then both xr6 and xr8 in the day. And yes they are leather

yeah pull it off and bend the bracket, pretty easy. There are two bolts on each side in the boot under the carpet; some screws in the wheel arches (the same ones that used to hold the mudflaps on). You will have to pull the towbar tongue off and also there might be some rivets holding the little bash plate between the bumper and the spare wheel arch (I took mine off by bottoming out at 130kmh on dirt) then it just slides off. The bracket you want to bend is the ones with the bolts that are in the boot; you will see when you have it out what I mean.

Woah havent updated this for a long time.

Ok, a few months back while on a Ford cruise my timing chain tensioner decided to snap!! So i decided its the perfect opportunity to get an AU engine.
When they pulled mine out they saw that the chain also put a hole in the timing cover when it let go, and that the welsh plugs were stuffed, and the head was weeping on the exhaust side, so the motor was pretty well fucked. I was pretty stoked when i got an AU engine with 160,000ks installed for $850! :D

Also got some other things done like the gas taken out when the engine was put in, AU clear repeaters, colour coded the door handles, resprayed all the black trimmings around the windows, tinted the tail lights, changed a few bits in the interior that were the wrong colour, and NF carpeted kick panels.
I had a Nolothane camber kit installed just after i got the car, and now in the last 2000kms ive replaced all, front and rear bushes with Nolothanes, 4 new KYB shockers, new tie rod ends, new UNIs, new Bendix front pads and front rotors machined, new gearbox mount, gearbox rear main seal, new accelerator cable, new Century battery, new alternator, and a new p/s pump.

Oh and its also for sale if any ones interested, hoping for $4500. I think its pretty reasonable considering the amount of work thats gone into it.
