Got some 18" GT-Ps from LilGee yesterday, cleaned them up today and put them on.
Also did the clear side repeaters, and changed the grill from the EB one to an EA one. The new grill needs a repaint though.

I am seriously considering getting rid of the spoiler and finding a lip one, would look sweet then.
Might also get a front bumper with the full lip as this one has been ripped off.
Some new number plates would be nice too :P

This should probably be in a build thread but I dont really do that much to it
(And I don't have a decent camera)

Well, may as well update this for once.
Been working on the GT a fair bit since the AU left, the old EB has been neglected a bit.
Things on my to do list(short term):
-Headgasket is blown so EF engine
-Thermos cos I want to keep the serpentine belt on the engine
-Rear rims are both cracked, so its back to the EB rims for a while
-Needs a wash something chronic. however my driveway is like a mud run so theres not much point.

Still have the turbo I got from EFECTIV, once I get some funds Ill be organising the rest of the bits. Need to get my bike license or another car so I can work on this, as its my daily.
Still runs for now, came out the other morning and Cyl2 was full of water. Fail. Still goes, just missed for a while... New engine time anyway.

Pulled the gas system out of my sisters old EF the easy way:

lol yeh there was no way I was going to get under that. Dads about 1/2 a metre away from the rear bar in the first pic, and was only under it for enough time to get 2 bolts off.

While he was under there I was stacking stuff under there in case it fell off.. Pipe bender, drum, jack, etc lol.

Short shifter is in, works really well! Gearbox is on its way out though.

Engine is out of the EF, just have to get mine out for the swap. Still needing a few bits.
Have to drive dads old EL wagon for the time being, just ticked over 400000km lol, Soooooooo stuffed!

Few other things have been happening:

Picked up an EF1 GLi for $500 from a guy in Maffra, had all new ball joints, struts, rubbers. 230000kms. Put the gas from the red EF on it, winnar! Gave it to my sister.

Weekend just gone, picked up an '83 Range Rover, ($500 again  ) been sitting in a paddock for a while. Has had an engine rebuild it looks like, runs very nicely! Brakes, clutch, gearbag work awesome.
Currently fixing the wiring under the dash, so all the electrics work properly.

I REALLY DONT LIKE BRITISH WIRING! Such a PITA to work on.

Anyway the rangie came with a set of 33s with near new tyres & a spare, so win. Tyres are worth more than what was paid for the car alone.
Pics will come soon! I have a video, but its got me in it lol. May post that up if I can be bothered ;)

Ready for some good bush bashing times!!

Coming out-

Out!

Cleaned things up slightly:

Motor is out of the red machine, replaced the balancer seal, rear main, and sump gasket. New waterpump, radiator and a bunch of other stuff.
Looking forward to the new engine! Should go good.

Also Im leaving my job, have an interview tomorrow for a new one :D Hopefully some more $$!

We also got the old rangie running, all it took was new fuel and plug in the ignition loom lol. Pulled the battery out of my EB and it fired straight up! Runs like a dream. Gearbox works, 4wd works, brakes work, all it needs are some electrical repairs :D
Bit of a vid:

EDIT: What a failure of a video. Reviewing my camera skills as we speak! :(
Will get a better one and post it.

Been a busy few weeks on the EB! New engine in & running, tHermos wired in, BBM wired in, serpentine setup, Dizzy setup, redid the loom for injectors/dizzy/TPS/all that jazz. New sump gasket, front & rear main, water pump, radiator, hoses, power steering H/P hose, & rocker cover gasket. Used some of that hylomar stuff, I'm impressed! Works quite well.

Gutted the impco 200 gas system from dads old wagon and put it on instead of the bbq ring. Wired it all up as per original (fuel pump shutoff relay, injector shutoff relay, etc). Only have to install the switch in the dash properly. Runs soooo much better with a decent management setup.
Rear wheel has been changed back to the EB-s rim, as it was about to implode. Will be changing all 4 back to these as I have a set with new tyres. And until I can get the 4th GTP fixed.

Camber kit installed on the front.
Tuned the gas setup. Drove to a job interview with the dash half out, was a bit urgent lol.
Hooked the cruise system up. Made an EL cable fit the EB module. Was going to jerry-rig the EL module into it, as its way more compact (1 device not 3), but didnt have the time. And wasnt sure if the VSS signal from the ECU would be enough (dont you need one from the cluster?) SO just modified it.
New rear seal on the gearbox as it was leaking.

Yet to fit the EL A/C pump and drier/condenser or whatever its all called. The EF pump I have accidentally got pressure washed (ie filled with water :banghead: ) when I cleaned the engine.
Also am going to paint the rocker cover once all the kinks have been sorted.

A few pics of the finished setup:

PS does anyone know how the impco systems do their petrol start if there is no actual petrol start controller? Did some work with out the module? Mine has the commander ECU, and is all connected, but doesnt seem to get enough fuel on startup. Pops and farts for a second then the gas switches on (relays click) and its all good. Petrol is fine. Did the same thing when the gas system was in the EL.
Any ideas?

Fixed the petrol start, there is a pot on the gas switch circuit board, basically a timer for how long until it switches to gas. Found the best spot for it, and goes/starts good.

Have changed the air con setup from the firewall forwards to an EL one, for maximum cooler room. Changed the horn from some gay air horns to a proper one while I was at it.
Cut the boot carpet around the gas tank, shut the road noise up a bit. The gas shop just pulled it out and left it crumpled in my boot when it was installed :( Removed my sub cos I like boot space, a sub box really ruins it. Eventually I will make up a panel for the right side of the boot for a sub to sit, to keep it out of the way and sound good at the same time.

Have been driving ~150km a day for work, the new gas system is proving that its decent. 7.5km/l consistently! $36 for 450km is fairly decent in my book.

After (bit hard to see):
Image

Will get some pics of the boot, turned out alright.

EDIT: lol the dog always seems to get her tennis ball in there somewhere. Gets annoying, being always 'please throw the ball' when youre trying to nut out a serious problem

Has anyone fitted a 600mm cooler and kept air con? or is a 450 one the best to go with unless I dont mind it being off-centre?

Blew a heater hose on the way home from Melbourne on Sunday, was quite a pain. Gaffer tape and hose clamps and managed to get home.

Put it on the hoist today, put a new hose in. Had a look underneath the car, I think the rear bushes are almost dead. Then I saw a bit of rust on the rh sill so poked it with a screwdriver. BAD PLAN
Image

Found 2 more holes in the right sill, one in the left sill and left dogleg. So an hour job turns into rust repairs!
Ground out and Treated the rust
Image
Image
Image

Bogged it up with fibre glass reo & filler and am sanding it all back soon.

Also got some number plates for christmas:

I'll have to get a move on and get some powar now!

Have had a few probs with the thermostat in this, I'm going to drill 2x 2mm holes in it as per SNRs suggestion.
Also got a massive boot from the dizzy cap/leads, not awesome. So getting a new cap & rotor button today, and will order some new leads from Justin.
Also got some of that Duplicolour red paint, and did the rocker cover (inspired by kwikxr). Came up pretty decent. Not quite as shiny as I would like, but need to give it a sand and smooth yet.
