hey guys a few of you have seen my el xr6 already but got a few new pics, ive got it looking how i want now and saving for turbo setup, just waiting on ef ghia to sell for some cash.
mods so far:
2.5inch carback exhaust
hi-flow cat
pacemaker comps
ss inductions cai
chip and dyno tune from cve

ive been searching other peoples boosted cars on here to see what turbo and stuff they have but unsure what one i should get and prive ranges if anyone can help me out on prices n turbo setups would be much appreciated

Looks very nice, should add some of the other ghia luxuryness - cruise control, climate control, and some chrome bits like the shifter and door handles.. and the turbo, would be pretty smick

thanks, i wanted to add cruise control but dont know how hard it would be to put it in, and yeh im working on getting chrome door handles and shifter

What sort of power you want for your turbo set up?
because you could go log manifold, small internal wastegated turbo, cooler, piping, dump pipe, oil feed, oil return and 12:1 fule reg or you can go highmount, big turbo, full 3inch exhaust and that sort of stuff

obviously you can go blowing well over 10-15 k on turbo setups but where do prices start and what kind of figure increase would you get from a basic setup. Furthermore, if you go one of these cheaper ones soon does that make it easier to go bigger later by replacing parts at a time?

eg, most basic set-up then... -> intercooler -> tuned exhaust manifold -> 3" exhaust etc etc

id want a fair bit of power from it but dont want anything extremly big, still want the car to be fairly reliable, what sort of set up will around $6000 get me?

6 k is a decent amount, depends on whos installing it, if ur doing it yaself then that will get u a decent snort kit plus tune etc. if u are getting someone to install it then allow a coupld of grand for that and tuning.

i no theres a few ppl that dont like him but mr cve will be able to help u out with the info or u can give snortperformance.com a try, if not just do some searching.

i would like to do it all my self but know hardly anything with engines, i had my car chiped and tuned from paul at cve so ill take it back to him

well that leaves option one is the cheaper kit, an aftermarket ecu
or option 2 is snort stage 3 kit and 3 inch exhaust

and maby valve springs, apr head studs and 2 au gaskets on both option if you can do the work yourself

I personaly wouldnt run one with out a cooler. but exhaust wouldnt be hard if you started with a 3ind dump pipe when you get it made to start with.
as for manifold it dempends how far it move the turbo around and also how much the housing gets rotated bu bolting on a diffrant angle and what flange is on it

yeh im looking at the snort stage 3 kit, im getting a bf ute just after xmas so can slowly do this one up and use the ute as a daily for work
