Hey mate,

I noticed your plates and was wondering where I had seen them, and then I realised it was from the forums, I own a blue el xr6 and drove past you the other day in Morayfield! small world I guess. Car looks good!

Ohk, I may have seen you this morning as well. I was in the workvan about 10:30 this morning and a nice EL xr was driving at the back of Morayfield Shopping centre just going under that bridge.

Looked clean, I have seen another blue EL XR getting around Morayfield , but it has a Bonnet bulge and didn't look quite as tidy...although it may have just been because it was dirty when I saw it.

Finally fixed the rough running / lack of power issue. Turns out it was the TPS....Not before swapping, dizzy, coil, leads, O2 sensor etc haha.
Ah well she is running well now. I got some front SL king springs new for $50 the other day so I have made a start on the lowering of the beast :)
Just need to buy everything else now.

I also had her down at Glen Innes Ford vs Holden show last weekend

Wish I had the motivation to clean her at the moment but the forecast is rain for tomorrow, so I think it would be pointless.

Cheers guys,
I have only had to take the rear mould off. Came off pretty easilly.
Just took a while to get all the glue /tape residue off.

Thanks mate, I would love to get her a full respray as there are quite a few imperfections in her.
But I try to ignore them as much as possible haha.

This was at the QLD All Ford Day a month or two ago.

I have been working on some HID projectors for the last couple of days,
I had a spare set of headlights for the Xr so I thought I would give it a go.

old and new projectors

I took of the old lens on the original projector and cut a hole in the bottom of it to sit the new projector in.
Bit of sikaflex to hold it in place, as I couldn't work out how else to fasten it.

Good mate, but I am looking into spending a few more $ on better projectors and re-doing them.
I want a more colourful cut off line and the ones I have light up the ground close to the front of the car, rather than a bit further out.
(with lights angled correctly)

I just finished putting some DBA x gold rotors and bendix ultimate pads on the front.
I'm so happy with how she stops now. Hopefully I'll get a set for the rears in the next few weeks.

Change the brake lines stat. Honestly they were such an improvement and gave you the confidence to hammer the brakes at QR turn 1, 2 and the short circuit turn 3 every time. Also use a race spec fluid DOT5.

Was $399 all up rotors and pads from Vic Performance Parts on eBay.
$274 rotors
$125 pads.

I had to message them and sort out pads as they didn't offer them on eBay.

Bit of an update with the projectors.
I ended up buying another set of HID projectors, this time from The Retrofit source rather than Ebay, and fitted them into an old cracked set of headlights, which I cut the lenses off and replaced with clear glass.

The projectors I used are the Morimoto Mini H1 6.0.

This is how they turned out.

Thanks mate, The HID projectors were bought from The Retrofit Source, online.
They are Morimoto Mini H1 6.0 projectors.

I use an ebay 55w 6000k H1 light kit.

I had a spare set of headlights so I played around for a while and fitted them all myself.
pain in the ass, but worth it.

Awesome as, i have HID's in the stock headlights, but what you have done looks like they give more light.
Do you have any more pics of the projectors while you were fitting them?
