NO hood scoop's :P or over the top stuff,
it'll just be plain...simple...clean, & all going to plan enough poke under the bonnet to keep a few guy's on the hwy honest

hmmmm ...how time's change

i've still got that "old school" bug in me & have put another reverse cowl scool on the cruiser :P
and once again...i'm not 100% happy with what i got (to be expected from phat custom kits, did'nt listen to what i wanted)
i got it back late friday arvo, and when driving back home got EVERYONE'S attention (being a black car with a white'sh bonnet)

Image

so called into supa cheap for some flat black paint, did a quick job to make it blend in before heading out last night, the "export paint" did'nt help time wise...because of the 10mm spray width & a bit of wind blowing. :glare:
anyway, here is how it is at the minute....(still alot of prep work to be done before paint).
Image
Image
Image

i'm also looking at getting the back part of the scoop extended, to go back more like the one i had on the NL 'lane (round 1) ?

yer if they had gone all the way back it would have looked more at home.

i think you should swap the LTD wheels for the stockies tho. those wheels and that scoop clash IMO. but it could just be the picture's not doing it any justice.

ok...... i stopped by a local spot for a quick pic on my way to heathcote raceway today, thinking i was going eat up my previous PB.

Image

well....... i ended up looking like..... ummmmmm.....

Image

i did a couple of run's on the 20's to start off....with 14.7's the result (my PB'S 14.48)
chucked the 16's on & got a best of 14.5.... still short of the mark :banghead:
i did have prob's with axle tramp & ignition (plug's/coil's?) at low rpm , but have also come to the conclusion that the new diff.....
what i thought was a 3.73 diff is more than likely a 3.45 and very sloppy
as the rpm at 100kph is only 2000, and the std 3.23 is around 1750...and my old 3.9's were around 2450.
oh well, on the the next step of the build :clapping:

Sucks to hear that about the diff mate.. but doing the calculations it seems like it is 3.73??

(1750/3.23)X 3.73 = 2020rpm @100kmh

What were your 60' times on your pb and this time?

2.22 on my pb & 2.30 at the w/end...just .06 between them in the overall et.... go figure :write:
a couple of 2.25's was the best 60' for the meet, but overall the top end mph was down and axle tramp & ignition (plug's or coil's ?) at low rpm was a factor :this:
i did 6 run's all up (could've done 60) as there were'nt many there... but did'nt think it was worth doing anymore.
it's all good mate, just another baby step to where i want to be :good:

Mph can be down due to the diff ratio as well..

Seems like if your 60' was as good as the pb you would have smashed the 14.48 ;-)

Once you get it sorted it'll be a bit better!
