agreed EBGLT!

Giving it a good crack on the weekend. Goign with a spare set of drive shafts.

I find it hard to belive the current driveshafts/CVs will hold up....especially if i actually lift the front wheels.

I say keep trying yourself.

Wouldn't it be more satisfying doing the 9 yourself?
Surely more runs the better you will get.

Agree! I dont think i would let anyone drive my car down the track,Unless there was a problem that needed to be sorted.
Your obviously not building the car for yourself, Seems more just for bragging rights..

course ill have a crack.

My plan is to get tuner to run the car, prove the car can do a low 1.5x with its setup even at heathcote, then run over 140mph and a 9 sec pass.

If he can achieve all those, then i know its something i can do with practice. I didnt say i wont try. I just said ill give tuner a few cracks.

Im happy owning and racing a 9 second car. If i can say im a 9 second driver id be even more wrapped :)

If vic had more bloody racing nights, id have more practice but nooo....VIC govt only allows me to race on the streets if anything...

Racing once a fortnight (possible rain out as it has recently) and 2 and a half hour tow each way....puts you off legal racing a little. Need calder back. Calder 1 week, heathcote next.

iCER, how wil a 1.5x 60ft net you a 9 when your running 10.5's with a 1.6x 60? Your car is not a 9 second car, and the way it's going, it's a dyno queen style power delivery, meaning it will run big mph, but never get the times you so desperately want. Wasnt this meant to run a 9 2 years ago?

Stop piss farting around trying to run a 9, set it up to do massive monos and blow **** minds. Go for the record "biggest mono by a BA with standard exhaust manifold", you cant loose.
Self-control is not doing a roll-on on the freeway at 100km/h,

I was curious, so I found a speed/distance/time calculator on the net, I don't know if it will prove anything but I guess it's on the same level as all your calculations and assumptions. So you say you rolled over the line at 140mph for the last 50-100m, lets just be generous and say it was 100m the difference between traveling 100 at 140 and 150MPH was 0.1 seconds....I understand acceleration and many other factors come into play but judging by this it's not going to make the .5 second difference you need.

needforspeed, it is too hard for me to judge anything as there were no clean complete runs. Only positive i took out of the last session was smashing through over 140mph multiple times. Hence trying again :)

On your 10.5@ 140mph pass, you were .03 sec slower from 660ft to 1320ft than a genuine .9@139mph car. Your cooler pipe DIDNT blow off. You dont have a 9 sec car, and unless you get the 660ft down, you won't have a 9 sec car.

This.

Icer, just practice mate. If the car actually can do 140mph, and you reckon you've got the suspension fairly well sorted, then you'll just need to keep practicing until it happens.

That is an oxymoron post if I have ever seen one.First you say " You dont have a 9 sec car" then cover your ass by saying "and unless you get the 660ft down, you won't have a 9 sec car"
So what is it? he does ,or doesn't,wont or will never have?
Surest fact about anything you have put in the thread is the one thing you have not posted, goes a little like this..........I will never have a car as good or as fast as icers.

I think the car has a nine in it,setup and driver play a massive part in drag racing.
A pure dyno queen would probably not make it past the burnout let alone the water trap.
