BTR is fine with a transbrake. DTM's cars have all been fine.

Yeah with the handbrake launches, you really need to slam it down to make sure you fully release it.

Need something just to hold the button in for at the strip. A grub screw would do the trick.

Its really not that hard... have a few practice runs and you'll get used to it.

After dragging manuals all the time I found it almost boring racing an auto lol. So much easier. I still don't understand how your the 'highway king' yet you say you can't drive or launch your own car? :-P

So whats the go with the auto is it getting rebuilt again now?

lol nope. Was fixed many moons back.

Just got it retuned on united e85 and put it back up to 25psi. Lost some power going from drum e85 to united e85 but gained it back by putting the boost back up. Sitting on just over 480rwkw now. I can cruise alot more now and not depend on jerry cans :P

Should post up the dyno sheet. What boost was it running with the drum stuff?

ye 480+ now.

Image

Its on about 24ish psi or so. Inside 'joke' on why boost is like it is...

We were on 22psi after head lifted for a few months when i was at the track last 2 times. Now bit more power and more boost to combat going off drum e85 and now on united e85 as im sure i would of lost 5-10rwkw.

And yes dynoed in 3rd gear as its just a 4sp btr.

Good to see you didn't lose much power going from drum to pump. I recon I'd get over using drum fuel pretty quick!

no misk. straight line all the way across.

I have an AMS1000 + c02 + external gate. Its straight as a line can get.

So what is the benefit of using co2 boost control over say a computer controlled standard type solenoid or using a stiffer wastegate spring?

More control over boost pressure. Can bring it on in stages etc.

correct. co2 goes hand in hand with the AMS as we stage the boost over X amount of seconds from 0-xxx

Welp... car went 10.05 at 137 today at Calder. Shame an rx7 broke and didnt allow us to have another run as rain then killed the rest of the night.

60' at 1.44. One of the best 60' in the country for any ba/fg (even on full slicks). Only 275 ET streets! Only got 1 run. 2nd to 3rd was (excitedly) short shifted. Car has a little left in the launch too. We may get it to 1.40 (or god forbid a high 1.3x). O well out again in 2 weeks for the 9!

Ill grab a slip up tomorrow.

Good stuff icer. So you weren't driving it? What have you changed in the suspension to get it to 60. Or was it more just the driver?.

different driver, different track.

Dion drove it. 2 weeks ago he set the fastest radial ba-fg record at heathcote with a 1.532 in 2 runs cooler pipe came off 300m down then done the 1 pass at calder last night. Car setup is still stock diff/driveshafts so dont know how many 1.4's it will do. 90/10 fronts stiff rear end and AMS. Launches like a beast. Looks like the best 60 ever was Spiro's DML drag car with a 1.403 with the big $$$$ rear end. So we getting pretty close lol. But cant find any full weight (ba-fg) car with a better 60 even on slicks.

Just happy after a year of trying, we have had a full proper pass! F you calder for taking so long to open.

10.05 is almost as close to a nine as it gets.
I know it isn't a nine, but it will happen.
Couple passes and a bit of experience it will run a nine.

was dion's 2nd run ever as the car is. His experiance got him the current result and record 60' at heathcote on his 1st run ever and 1st run at calder. just got excited. 9 is obviously there. Least we know the car has it in it which we are wrapped!

You don't just step into a car and PB.
Takes a few passes to see where it shifts best, how it launches best etc.

As you will find out.

I am no way sticking up for Dion or Icer, just being realistic, these things aren't like running 12's

100% correct.

But then again, he jumped in car, 1st crack, ran cars PB with record 60' at heathcote, then done same again at calder following week lol. Dion is pro driver. Will get the limits of the car then i will try to mimic and see if i can get close.

Think it would take a few passes on the same track, on the same day / night to whittle away at that 9...even with a pro driver.

The fact that he was able to reel off what he did in only one available pass was an achievement in itself :drinks2:

Getting close now mate..
