EA SVO. Buying bits for turbo :D

Postby 89.SVO » June 20th, 2010, 1:13 pm : monstermk2 Likes this post

Hey guys and gals,
This is my EA SVO. Bought it locally about 6 months ago. It was a rough old girl when i bought it so a couple of weeks after i bought it, it went to my mate who's a spray painter and got tidied up.

Currently it's a 3.9L auto. But the 3.9L decided to do a head gasket (while sitting mind you) so i'm going to piss that motor off and drop an AU motor in it and once off my P's turbo it :D
sorry about the pic quality. i still own a Motorola V3 phone with a VGA camera

yeh it should. but damn these P plate laws!
now the ultimate question is what would be the best way to go? i'm leaving the original log manifold in. and using a AU motor with the XH tensioner and belt.

People chose what they wanted from the options list. Could just get wheels, badges, grill, interior, etc..

the options list is in the car. there were a few things you had to have. other where options.

Must haves:
2 tone paint job with blacked out B and C pillars
SVO wheels, grill, wing and badging
SVO dash cluster
If you had a S-pac you had to get a Fairmont Ghia garnish to put the rear SVO badge in

Options:
Front recaros
mild profile cam
2.5" mandrel bent Stainless Steel exhaust
Adjustable sway bar pins
adjustable castor/camber kit
Bilstein springs and shocks
front bumper lower lip with SVO stamped in it
Momo "panther 360" steering wheel with SVO centre pad

i just took these pics just then to show the steering wheel and Fairmont Ghia based SVO cluster

What options does yours actually have?

Does it have the lip/do you have a photo of the lip? I'd never heard of those before

If so is it really any different to the standard EA S-pac/EB Fairmont one except with SVO written on it?]

[edit2: here's a better angle - is this what they look like?

dude, dont bother putting in the t5 in ur daily, if u drive in traffic its a pain in the ass. manuals are super fun, but i wouldnt have one in a daily, especially in an e series with a heavy as **** clutch...... i currently drive one atm, and its shit in any sort of traffic.

It would be shit in the city, I have seen that the handful of times I have been in Melbourne traffic. Anywhere smaller though manual makes dailys so much more enjoyable!

Excedy standard clutches are good though mine is light as and hasn't slipped on me yet - even if it starts to i'll just get another I'd rather have it nice to drive and replace it twice as often than have a heavy bastard that makes it no fun (like the brass button that was in my turbo EA)
