Atlas Grey is the best colour for these. Good luck with the project

Good luck with the interior

Also, 355 is gayer than aids. If you don't put an LS1 in it you may as well put in a stock 3.8!

+1! 5-10k for shit power, or $1500ish for a wrecker spec LS1 and make the same power with a catback exhaust and MAFless tune. There's conversion kits around for these too.

yeah im looking at ls1 also, dunno yet. kinda a cheats way for power lol but yeah think its going to be the way to go
355 can make good power, and alot easier then a 347. plus there alot stronger and more reliable then 347 roller blocks.
hear bad things about early gen 3s? oil pressure issues and things?
i got a place that will do the conversion for 6k drive in drive away with lsa but i can do alot of work my self so i aint paying that kind of money

going to re loom the whole car with a calais or stato. gotta have elec windows
run al my stereo wiring, good size boot so i can fit my 4 15s in it with some amps and shit happening.

How is it a cheat's way of making power? I know you're shit stirring, but that's almost as retarded as the knuckle draggers opinions that turbo's are cheating

http://www.performanceforums.com/forums ... t=67257178Holden V8 oiling systems are gay. LS motors make more power cheaper, have better ECUs, weigh less and leak less.

LS1 for sure!!.. sif be bothered with 355.. you may as well fit a 3.2L 6cyl from an early EA, and de-stroke it!

ill get some more pics as i do work on it, just getting body ready at this stage.
even looking at putting a chev in it, 383 or something, carby my mate has a 8 71 on his 383 make 600 rwk no problems
im just dont like the idea of working a stock bottom end hard, i like having forged internals.
its all good to put heads and cam in an ls1 and put a charger on it but how long with the bottom end last?

As long as you don't send it to a ping specialist and it's semi healthy, they last for ages with reasonable power.

They're around, do some research. But wgaf about revs, how much power do you actually want?

Is this going to be budget or do you want to make epic shitloads of power? Either way an LSx is the best way to go.
Trust me, the stock oiling system in the holden motors is ass - did you read the link I posted above? It's worth signing up for, trust me!
A friend of mine has a VT clubby that's been making 400rwhp for a couple of years now, stock bottom end, no dramas, he's taken it to Powercruise twice as well...

But then you don't get to dream about building a forged internal stroker that'll rev to 11ty rpm and will make 220rwkw for lotsa $$$

exactly, vt 5 litre or vt gen 3?
yeah i read the forum, i am leaning more towards gen 3. even the guys on the vn ss forum i joined are telling me i wont have change from 10 to build a 355 and it will only make 250 rwk, my fkn windsor was cheaper and would of had that power if wasnt de comped.
looking up vy wrecks now

Buy a VX onwards LS1. VT2 LS1 has a crap manifold, and not as good HGs.
Search around wreckers, but they go for as little as 1k as good runners if you hunt around.
10k for a decent 355 is on the ball, and you'll be lucky to make 250rwkw with no potential for more without forced induction.
A bolt on only LS1, ie stock cam will nearly do that. You just need an intake, tune, full exhaust and U/D kit to get there.
As a bonus, they share the old Chev bolt pattern so a TH350/400/Glide bolts up.
Research and buy right, and you'll do the conversion making 250rwkw for under 10k.
Or better yet, just go buy a VT/VX that probably has most of those mods for around the same price!

The VN will go faster though....
The way I see it, you should actually put a 2J in this car, or sell it and put a LSx into an EA

Thats interesting reading about the oiling system in the Holden V8's, makes you wonder what the touring car guys were doing back in the day to get around it. They would have been dry sump but the same principals would apply...
Can't help but think what the guy on PF has done is overkill & the same thing could be achieved with some restrictor plugs here&there.

215s are senators not clubbies, clubbies are only 304 cubic inch 185 kw
215s were senators or gto only with 355 factory stroker 215 kw
