Not much happening with this at the moement besides loosing the keys for it for about 7 hrs :banghead:

Although today i picked up a 2m bookshelf, the haters told me I needed the trailer to pick it up. The wagons fat ass took it like a boss and closed the tailgate with room to spare  :o :P

This week im taking it to a dyno shop who also is a Bosch dealer. They rebuilt my dizzy a while ago and seem to know their stuff. Im going to get them to put it on the dyno and work out exactly what the efi problem is. Hopefully its a simple fix. Then I will take it to a gas shop and have a full gas service done.

Then continue to drive it.

You know me hus, your no challenge.

Anyhow back to the wagon. I was getting ready to take to take the wagon into the dyno shop when I thought I better put the airbox back in and hook the MAF back up ready for the blokes to diagnose it.

I noticed the MAF's plug clip had snaped off and thought "Ill properly fix this e-series style" so I grabbed a few cable ties and secured the plug to the MAF. Bugger me it has fixed all the problems. It revs past 3000rpm and pulls like a train. I hooked up the diagnosis box thingy and the only codes it threw was related to the deleted EGR. WIN! :drinks2:  :good:

The Idle is a little rough but Im putting this down to stale fuel and maybe some injectors needing a clean & service. I havent used petrol for maybe 8 months.

Not only egg but like 12 months of sifting through ford manuals and wiring schematics and thinking "petrol bomb".

I have been driving it today and will definitely get the injectors fully serviced, new fuel filter, fresh 98 petrol, and reset the timing. If that doesn't fix the average idle then Ill book it back into the dyno shop to work out what its doing.

Never the less Ill also get the LPG system serviced as well. Don't think Ill sell it now :)

I got Paul (CVE) to reco some injectors for me. WOW it has fixed the shitty idle and it seems so smooth.

All I have to do now is sort out a major service for the LPG and thats the running gear sorted.

Im thinking of ditching the big brakes from this, there causing me grief with alignment issues which I think comes down to the style of camber kit and some warn out bushes in the front end.

Ill probably get a new better style camber kit and then throw them on the XR6 and put stock set up back on the wagon.

Looks like Ill be getting a company car soon so just as I get the wagon to a reliable and good running state I have to sell it as I cant have 3 cars just for myself. If your interested let me know.

I have been frustrated knowing I have set my big brakes up worng and couldnt quite understand it fully. Well today BAM! it all came clear and I know what to do. Swap the caliper brackets to the oppisite side of the car and flip the pads over. This will keep the bleed nipple at the top and the pin on the bottom.

Ill do it tomorrow.

The poor wagon hasnt really moved since I arrived in Melb. However after having one person look at it and deciding not to buy I figured I may as well clean it up a little. But first I had to slap another 3 months of rego on it.

Things to do

-Take big brakes off it and put back to stock
-put some new bushes in the front end
-new uni joints
-get someone to put the leads on the plugs properly (dont ask)
-adjust timing etc
-I just met you, and this is crazy, but I might wash you........nar **** that.
-take it on a cruise

I may find some GT40P's and get a j3 tune but Ill only do that if I can afford a LPG upgrade like what Hus's pimp sled has.

True about NSW/ACT

The XR6 is resting and has been for 7 months. There are some cool plans for it, 1 of which will be the big brakes. More on that later.

I might work on the wago this weekend and try and cruise it very shortly.

Re: Another V8 Wagon FOR SALE!

Postby vegabass » June 24th, 2012, 8:38 pm

So I’m spending way too much time with Hus, I have been buying stuff the pretty up the ole wagooon. Firstly Hus supplied some cappa rear fairlane leather seats and a chrome auto shifter thingo. Next was to break my Jolly's cherry. OMG hell yeah. Picked up ghia door moulds with pretty good chrome. After the fact I realised that the donor car was actually the right colour! So I went and got both front guards, bonnet, and front bar. Also I noticed the previous owner had obviously spent some cash recently on suspension so I took the lower control arms which had new bushes. There is Monroe GT sport shocks and camber kit still there if anyone is keen.

So, with the front end looking smick again the inside more luxo with the leather it will be that much nicer than just the daily shitter.

Who know what’s next ;)

Hey Brad, I cant remember the ghia wagon on carsales... Oh well Ill make my own. Ill drive the wagon through sydney in the future so Ill call ya and we can meet up.

Im just about to order the remaining bushes I need for freshen up. I cant wait to have it all finished and take it for a cruise.

Oh and I decided to take the gas mixer off and put the standard intake pipe on for lols. well......looooollllllzzzzz. My golly gosh. It actually goes like a shower of shit! Breaks traction which totally doen't suit the wagon what so ever hahaha. Its more odd than Hus's low, white pimp sled broadside.

This wagon is going places :)
