Our New AUII XR8 Manual

Postby tezza bear » January 7th, 2011, 9:10 am

Well its taken a little while to get this post all together and get the pics up, this is our new ride, traded the LTD for 2001 AU II XR8

Seems all stock standard, had a few little things go wrong with it in the first couple of days after picking it up,

Had to replace Heater Tap, while doing this managed to **** the weld on the heater so will need to replace this now :x

Had to replace the Oil Sender Switch, which was fun considering Ford told us we needed the sender @ $66 which we got only to find out we actually only needed the $13 switch, apparently some AU II came out with switch, some sender.............but no one knew for sure...........oh fun indeed,

Then we got caught in the huge hail storm that hit Cranbourne and found we had a leak which meant the drivers foot was swimming when it rained, found this little crack and managed to sikaflex it up,

Accelerator used to stick also but a good clean of the throttle body now means its a nice light pedal,

Apart from all listed above this is a nice to drive car essentially bought for the Mrs to get around in i am starting to like it more than the XR6 ;)

List of things I would like to do over time:
Change tail lights to the Altezza Dark Chrome
Change The Front & Back Bar to the TS Ones
Put a Bonnet Bulge on
Change The Rear Spoiler to either the Double Fin or TS 50
New Set Of Wheels
New Exhaust
Maybe Pace Makers

I would have thought you'd need the oil pressure sender as you have the guage on the cluster.

either way, nice looking car.

i wonder why the previous owner removed the tickford & XR8 badges moved them higher in the guard and separated the "8" from "XR"

looks like a nice car, hopefully it hasnt been tampered with too much

Nice buy! Looks good. I prefer the standard taillights over any of the aftermarket ones though
