picked this up tonight swapped it for my XG ute pretty good swap i think :D

its a 1993 ford ED XR6 its auto and completely standard and goes very well. Its had a slight tap in the front so once i pay rego i will get another bonnet and get the grill repaired and have them sprayed, i will also be putting my hot wires on for abit as it has bald tyres but once the front end is fixed i will get new tyres and refit the factory wheels.

plans: another bonnet and get grill repaired, maybe colour code the grey strips around the car im not really sure on that just yet opinions?

only daylight pic i got:

thanks mate it looks ok on hotwires the original alloys will be going back on.
it has about 360,xxx but i suspect its had some work in the past, possibly a top end reco.
i am picking up another bonnet tomorrow the same colour it will look alot better.

update while im typing as above picking up another bonnet tomorrow same colour as the car bit faded but it should buff up ok.

also today i washed the xr and i kinda wish i didnt :-( i found rust and a fair bit, drivers sill isnt to bad and drivers rear wheel arch (i already new about this), inside the drivers side door jam, passenger side sill is quite bad, some on the inside of the passenger side door thats all i have found at the moment. Later on i think i will try pick up another shell and swap all the XR stuff over.

so its been a little while few weeks ago i decided to start body work for a respray, i had no idea what i was going to do my thoughts were colour change, leave it red or 2 tone i went into my local paint supplier a week ago to get primer etc and he showed me a few colours and found one i liked so i grabbed it, its called moody blue mica.

pics.

spray guns

thinners

primer, clear, wax and grease remover

still a fair bit of work i am also going to be fitting el door handles and fuel flap. I have also picked up some parts sports exhaust (temporary my exhaust is shit), extractors, springs (free, cut and insanely low) cylinder head (free i will be sending the cam off for a regrind).

so once the respray is done its going to be fitted with some 4.11 diff gears and after that a stally and then some new wheels.

Looks great - lots of orange peel there though, although it's not somewhere you really look at so not an issue.

updates firstly the compressor shit itself and someone damaged my bonnet wich is now fixed everything is ready for primer/paint but the weather is crap here at the moment so when some nice weather comes i will be hiring a large compressor to get the job done. i also purchased a daily driver for $1,000 with 4 months rego its a 1985 XF sedan 6 seater colloum auto 137,000k's the guy i got it off said the motor was rebuilt at H&M performance 5,000k's ago, its also lowerd, tinted windows and a cd player wich the buttons barely work on :-P

im hoping next week the weather is good because i am working for a month just after easter wich will mean the car wont be sprayed untill after that. its not much of a problem just a pain, i have the money put away ready to go and pick up a compressor when the weather comes good.

well tonight just wasnt my night i wish i could of stayed at home. coming home from town i got distracted for a second looked infront of me to see the car in front stopping wet road + no abs = bang i rear ended a late model mazda 4wd noone was hurt or i would feel even worse. I only cracked her rear bumper and chipped some paint off it the XF basically went under it it needs a bonnet, grill, head lights and right gaurd. she was ok about it we exchanged details i went to leave flat battery cops ended up stopping saying they had a few calls about the car being in a bad spot i just explained what happend they were cool about it and helped me move it off the road. before i can do anything i have to pay her excess for her insurcance then fix the XF then get back into the XR6.

after we pulled the bonnet forward to get it open
