As it has been pointed out the rr is at 200... Was in this mode to tune. This i did not no or realize. In NA6 shootout mode rr@125 it make 320rwhp. I do not have this dyno sheet as of yet. More to come once i get my intlet temps down from 53deg to around 40 or lower. I will post up other dyno sheet when i get it..

Cheers guys. Yer it does sound pretty mean hahaha.. I feel sorry for my neighbours who live in the same building of units when i start it at 5 every morning to let it warm up before going to work hahaha..

Yer this friday it goes back to the guy at Prodyno Rockhampton to get the Kaaz centre and 3.7 diff gears. The biggest problem we are having atm is the 6speed auto.. We are unable to put a stall in it until the software is released.. Software that has been coming since 06 but apparently according to Herrord we should see it this years.. If not going to go a fully manualizes 6speed auto.. that way we can trck the computer into thinking its a manual and therefore run a bigger stall :)

Also to change is intake setup where we have filter at them moment we are getting 53deg inlet temps so be nice to get that down..

How does it drive compared to standard when driving in traffic? Is the bottom end grunt sacrificed much?

Bloody hell, I didn't realise you could get this much power out of a DOHC atmo! Nice work!

Yer not to bad just gota learn how to drive it.. it hasnt lost anything over standard down low but from what it was it has.. The biggest porblem due to size of the cam shafts the power range is like 3500rpm+ so bellow that there are a few spots aroun 2000rpm where it will stumble and WOT.. Its not that bad to drive considering tho. Diff gears will really help getting it off the line plus less load on the engine..

hahaha ClassicAu it has taken a while mate and alot of research by the guys at Prodyno.. We didnt expect to have problems with auto tho... But they arent the same as the turbo autos..

Still waiting to see a dyno sheet of 220rwkw.
And a time slip too.

Welcome buddy, not a fan of the wheels but the engine setup is great.

car looks good. impressive power too from a non turbo. might sound like a retarded question, but wat colour is it? looks red in some pics and blood orange in the others and the video.

i dont think i have ever seen a non turbo with a plenum made for boosted application before, did it make a big difference?

If what I can remember trav told me is right, plazmaman knocked it up to suit n/a application. I'd like to know how it goes versus individial t/b's, considering theres no where near the same pressure as in a boosted situation.

Re: Trav's N/A Bf xr6

yer plenum was made to suit n/a. as far as i know is that its just a smaller capacity.. As you know with forced induction it is well forced thro plenum.. As mines n/a you dont get that. So the trick is to have a long intake piping about 40 to 50cm is perfect. what this does is increases air speed.. If you dont do this you will lose power down low. Also having a ram air style intake helps and the length give the air a nice run up before hitting the plenum..

Im thinking ITBS would prob be better not sure.. but it was just easier for us to go a plenum..

So i dropped my car off this morning and got a few things sorted.. Air box will be made up and there was a typhoon there that had a blown motor due to hitting rev limiter and destroyed the oil pump gears.. So I got them to order me a billet oil pump and cover.. Diff gears and kaaz centre there waiting to be assembled.. So pretty keen to get bak from nz!! Also looking at making a cOver for battery. Also waiting on alloy overflow bottle..

interesting stuff about the intake, id expect to loose a fair bit of torque considering the swirl effect is being produced by the standard intake manifold. in saying that if its power figure i guess a free flowing straight in intake would make sense.

Re: Trav's N/A Bf xr6

PostPosted: February 3rd, 2011, 12:29 pm
by Trav199
Yer there is a torque loss using the plenum but that can be regained by the porting atomic do. Creates a swirl effect. If bolted onto a standard motor there would be a loss in torque but since I done cams comp and that wouldn't have noticed a loss of torque. Plenum helps for top end power

Would this be faster or slower than an xr6t with 330rwhp?

My car makes about that.

Well in theory it should be quicker no turbo lag and so on.. Went for a spin in a mate xr6t ute with Cooler kit and cat back exhaust and mine felt alot stronger in 3rd.. But yer not real sure mate. Depends to on what diff gears also

until it hits the 400m it doesn't really matter :D

it may have less lag, but a turbo will typically have more mid range torque, and given you're looking at a decent stall and high gears, an equivilant turbo would likely leave the line on boost anyway :P

but either way, its good to see someone pushing the N/A envelope, theres something satisfying about beating a Turbo 6 or V8 with an N/A 6.
