Ouch! Sorry to see that. It was a nice looking car :(

Glad you're ok and get the chance to build something else

Unlucky though. Good luck in the future endeavours. Glad you were able to walk away

Cheers

Full comp for me was $2.5k. Its just not financially logical to pay that per year for a car worth $6k

$800? You've had the car 9 years so I assume you're at least 27.. insurance should be wayyyy less than that. I pay less than $1k full comp on a $40k insure FG F6, payed a bit more than that on a BA F6 because I upped the value to $27k when it was worth around $22k.

Fark, $2.5k?

My ED with all the more listed is only $800 a year and I've lost my license! And that's insured for $8k.

Sucks to see that mate, must of been a hard hit, glad you were ok and walked away from it.

Re spacers: with illegal modifications, insurance will only void you if the modification caused the crash, same goes for any modification that isn't listed on your policy.

Agree with all the WTF about $2.5k! My NC is insured for $11k and thats $1100/yr with multiple licence losses.

They insured your nc for 11k! Agreed value? Not trying to be a smartass but isn't it pretty much stock except rims brakes and suspension? How do they come to a 11k value when a mint stocker is barely 10% of that value?

You can look at it another way, if his eb was insured he reckons he would have only been paid out 3-4k which seems pretty right IMO.
Now if you assume an average of $1000 a year fr insurance, and he's had it for nine years then even though he's now got a wreck, financially in the long term he's actually better off than if he had been insuring it all this time.

Yeah but who puts the money they would have spent on insurance away for when their car actually does crash?

Not many people can crash their car and have enough to get another one so it doesn't matter how long you've had the car and how long the insurance is at the end of the day if you crash or have someone crash into you the payouts gonna be there unless as others have said the company doesn't pay up because of things you havnt told them

Your quite right, I only know one guy who does just that, but he's insanely good with his money, and drives a festiva so obviously replacement costs aren't a big concern for him.

I live in sydney. Completely clean record, currently 26, always had work. Its because im in NSWjewtown a male and the car has a pants-wetting 90rwkw V8.
All up 3rd part, F&T costs about $800. Rego costs (green slip etc) cost another $700 on top. So it was well over $3k for one year. Not worth it. I could have shopped around but they were all pretty similar

i think a bf 2 xr6 is a bit quicker than my eb 5 litre , have driven the zf 6 speed auto and they go quite hard, but im not really after going fast and setting records. just want something a bit newer, and more economical than what i had.if i wanted a quick car i would of bought a xr6 turbo.lol
