MY PRIDE & JOY- BA XR6 TURBO

Picked up my new baby about a month ago for $20,000, only 112,000 on the clock, 5 speed manual, APS 3" stainless Steel Exhaust System, APS Intercooler, APS CAI system and APS High Capacity Injectors, Ba XR8 18" Wheels and King Spring Lows. I put mesh grilles on it to hide the intercooler and added chrome pin stripe on the front and rear bar, removed the spoiler and tinted the tail lights, sprayed the calipers red and the rotors silver to remove the rust.

Nice. Another Mooroolbarkian.

Did you do much research before you picked it up bud? $20k is a little steep for a 5 speed BA with over 100km.

i got it with a 5 year warranty and it covers everything so im still happy with the purchase

If it covers everything, I'd be thrashing the guts out of it. The clutch and box won't be like whatever power the APS shit's putting out - btw, how much power is it putting out? Engine bay pics?

It's got half decent mods. If all the gear was in a BF2 or F6 it'd put down some good figures. My guess with a T5 and early BA motor it's been tuned very modestly. You should try contacting a previous owner for more info. How long till you're off your P's?

the previous owner was from tassie and i picked it up from a car yard. 8 months till im off my P's. im not gonna do anything to the car until im off my P's just so its no so red hot

I'd leave the taillights stock so you dont create more unwanted attention too.

20g's is a fair bit for a 5sp, I'd consider selling mine for that if i could think of anything decent to replace it with!

Looks good, but I'd also suggest leaving the stock un-tinted tail lights in it to avoid unwanted attention.

I payed 23k for mine with a 4 speed auto lol

Great looking car and very nice for p's but I'm with everyone else with the fact u need to un tint your lights. If the bacon pull you over for the lights (which they will) they'll do a look through on the car and under your bonnet ain't exactly subtle. Even someone who knows nothing about cars will see the turbo plastics and you'll get done for sure.

i paid 13k for my 2004 BA XR6T with 300rwkw ;( but had 120,000km and stock auto.


mind you the only modification the car has since purchase of the car is the 3.5" cat back. Well not even cat back as i replaced the cat too.

I'm buying king spring super lows and i wanna compress the rear 1.5" and the front 1"
any suggestions on whether that will be too low or will i scrape heaps?

Why not just buy SSL's insted of SL's?
SL's in the front,SSL's in the back always looks good.

you can only get ultras in the front for ba's and supers in the rear

They are SSL's but the king catalogue says they are superlows for a BA.

i picked up some springs today off ILLF8D for $150, front KFFL-57SL and rear KFRL-68SSL, the fronts are still in the plastic wrap and the rears were used for 4000kms so im pretty stoked about that, i wanna compress the fronts 1" and if the rears aren't too low 1.5"
