My 99 AU Fairmont Ghia. Barra 240T Powered

Hey everyone,

I had a thread about my car at the start of the year but I think it deserves a fresh one in the showroom since its almost finished. The car is a 1999 AU Fairmont which I have fully converted into a GHIA, has everything except the VCT engine and the GHIA diff. I've put a brand new sunroof along with many exterior and interior mods. The engine has Pacemaker 4499s, 100cpsi cat and a 2.5" exhaust to the back. There are too many mods to list but ill let the pictures do the talking. Its pretty much done, the last thing that remains is the turbo kit for when my P plates expire!

This is the day i got the car:

The kit will really set it off when you get the front lip! I'm assuming your staying with no wing? I reckon it looks tops on S1 kits!

cost me exactly $2000 on the dot, did it at custom sunroofs(highly recommended) and its the hollandia 700, top of the range. its exactly like factory sunroofs in the AU series 2 and BA. the guy did a fantastic job, looks like a brand new car inside.

i appreciate all your comments guys, the car is coming along well and i couldn't be happier with it. i'm going to get a skirt made up for the front lip 67rce and yea i would never put a spoiler on this car :p i can't wait till the tickford kit is actually on! should be on in the next coming months :D i wanna get the tyres whitewalled too, see how i go with that though lol.

I don't like many AU sedans, but this one is very nice. You've done a great job.

thanks mate, they are really nice cars but its due to the impression of most of the ones I see on the road they are treated like shit so people think they are ugly etc. they need a good owner and good TLC + good taste and they will come up as a very nice car :)

Not normally a fan of bulges on other cars, but I think it actually suits this car. Looks mint mate, just need that Ticky kit on it

This looks pretty great for an AU!

How much was your sunroof installed for? And done any performance mods?

thanks bud, well i put in a brand new unit, hollandia 700 which was $2000 supplied and fitted at sunroof centre in Maribyrnong.

performance wise i've got an xr6t snorkel, pod filter inside the box and just a redback 2.5" straight pipe exhaust. my intentions were to bolt on a turbo in the next month or so and run safe boost and slowly upgrade the internals as i go. i'm just wondering how much power at the rears my car would have on a safe boost. few things i've been thinking about

cheers

** Update **

I need some opinions, should i put a series 1 tickford kit on this car? tell me what you think!

my tyres on the rear might need to be swapped soon, i've got 245's at the moment. i'm wondering if i get thinner tyres would that make it seem as though the rim will tuck a little bit more and make the car look lower? I'm also planning to get rear airbags for this car soon, all in good time though :)

cheers.

looks alright for an AU i guess :P

whats the deal with the pillar gauges? is that to keep an eye on your volts, water temp and oil pressure?
