Well this is my EB Fairmont Ghia.
I brought it at the start of the year with a blown head gasket for a grand originally only for the interior.
On the drive home I realised the car was pretty much roadworthy after the head gasket was fixed so I decided to get it on the road as my daily. All electrics and even the air con worked excellent so I couldn’t refuse.

I fitted a Tickford shaved Head, XR fuel reg, Genies, AU injectors, Wade 1636 cam, XH Snorkel and a few other little bits I had lying around. I removed the flaps, stripes, badges, headlight protectors and wind things then took it in for a roady. I pretty much got the car, RWC and 12 months registration for just under 2 grand which I was ecstatic about considering the condition inside alone.

In the last couple of weeks I’ve had a few mechanical problems. It’s scored a new dissy cap, plugs, oil, fuel pump and coil pack that I relocated onto the manifold cause Ford where stoned when they designed it.
I got a custom J3 tune from TI Performance which is pretty much the best bang for buck I’ve spent on the car. It’s unbelievable how many little problems it’s fixed with gear shifting, idling, revving and fuel consumption. It’ll pay itself off in the next 10 tanks of fuel alone I can tell you now.
I highly recommend talking to Jason if you need a custom tune.
I also lowered it on superlows in the front with secondhand lows in the rear. I hate changing front springs :(
I got some FTRs last week with great tread for $400 and chucked them on. Do need 5 more shorter wheels nuts though.

The to do list:
-XR bootlip (anyone have one?)
-Paint some bits (bumper strips, chrome, front, around window and flap rub)
-New tint as the back window is shagged.
-Exhaust
-Shocks and more dumpage depending on my shock choice.
-Bigger Cam and tune.

Overall the car goes really well when I need it, looks fairly neat and is great on fuel for what I want.
Best of all the cops have nothing to pick on me about.
After I finish my to do list I'll probably keep it as a daily and buy a Typhoon for fun ;)
Time will tell.

Thanks for reading and I'll update as I go if anyone cares.

Thanks again! I got a custom tune just for now to see what sort of improvements it could make.
When I get a new cam and exhaust I'll get a proper tune. I think I'm driving it up to Bathurst this year so It'll all get done in the next month before I leave hopefully.
