What ecu did you use ?

when i got the motor all built i asked pavtek what they recommended, they told me to use the stock ECU and go see the boys at elec automotive. they love the standard ECUs. i didnt know what troubles i was going to run into this time tho cause that motor was from a series 3 holden, which has a MAF sensor. an unlike the LS's u cant simply go into the computer and turn off the MAF. they said its going to be a little bit of a head fk but they'll work it.

Cool, yes you can convert to a map sensor, but even then with ITB you don't want a map sensor tune.
I know because I have done it many times before and also tune delco.

Not a Holden man at all, but this car deserves so much respect. Everything on this car looks mint, love the RVs also, suit the car really well.

Keep up the great work on it, and don't let someone take it away either.

Re: '97 Caprice

Postby Jecs » March 18th, 2012, 9:33 pm

sorry about not updating boys

short story of whats bein happenin.

1. battery went flat
2. battery wouldnt recharge
3. only 3 months old
4. took it back to bursons
5. crook cell, got new battery

so i fitted new battery up and ran into a new problem. it wont start. something is tellin the fuel pump to prime the system, let it crank over and start with the prime fuel. but stop sending power to pump. ive checked relays, fuses and everything is workin the way it should be. im pointing towards the BCM or ECU. im going to try a few more ways and if i still cant work it out im gunna get an auto elec to wire the pump straight to ignition. so what ever the fk is crackin the shits can keep crackin it but the fuel pump will be forced to stay on.

i got my brother to make a new accel bracket and hes added a lil feature to it and now im thinking about getting something engraved on it. thinking 'friends & family' cause friends helped me build it, and my family was always supporting during the build.

its basically a revamped design, but ive moved which side the cable runs on which as far as i can tell has eliminated the cable getting jammed on the trumpet. which was a problem i was having

CVE, ive found it always does this after the battery dies/removed.

first time it happen was when i did the engine conversion
second time was fittin hi torque starter motor
third time was fittin new battery
forth time was fittin another new battery (gave other one to my daily)

each time, after messin with everythin from the fuel pump plug to lockin the car down, ive some how got it started again but cant make a connection. as far as the dizzy goes i revamped it when i did the conversion. along with the wanli intake pump. its the factory computer tuned by electronic automotive

i think its some lock out mode but dunno

Immaculate build mate, I've seen it on street commodores. I know exactly how you feel when shit ain't going your way. I've just finished building my 383 for my VZ and it won't start either. To much electronic bullshit to go wrong. Hopefully its getting sorted today! I Wouldn't mind checking this thing out one day too.

I will have to agree with this, doesn't need the whitewalls to give it credibility.
