Woot rego done today. :D

Shifter is shit and maybe it does need a louder exhaust afterall.

Otherwise its good. Insurance is only $4 a month dearer than the ute and the DTE says 640km. :-P

I dunno how the other GM shifters feel but the stock 6 speed shifter in my AU was a five hundred thousand times better. Can I fix it or do I need to replace it with those unfriendly super dooper sports shifters with no travel?

Shifter is starting to feel better. Maybe it just sat for too long.

My tailpipe fell off last week after some roundabout shenanigans so Mr TuffCarParts hooked me up with a twin 2.5 inch cat back exhaust for this thing.

Hopefully Ill get time to put it on this weekend. Should liven things up a bit.

Still trying to decide if its worth going OTR and forking out for a tune.

I've always been disappointed when I spend large chunks of cash on NA mods. :glare:

How is a maffless tune shit driveability? dunno where you heard that from thats absolute rubbish. Drives the same as stock with less fuel consumption much better power and just about everything else is improved. Tell me what aspect of a mafless tune is shit driveability?

Ive heard VE going alright with a maf tune but anything older dont even bother the factory intake you need to keep with the maff is no good.

Nah his car drives great, just as SOMELS1 said, just like a stock car but heaps more power and his fuel econmy went from around 480 to 600!

Another reason why the LS motors have been so tempting in the past but the thought of owning another holden made me sad.

But is that the plan for this if it doesnt sell (tune + exhaust)?. Suprised it hasnt sold already actually. Good price.

ive heard keep the maf unless you cam it, my mate has a ls1 in a s13 its a stock motor, with a fuel system and malpassi reg (cos the stock ls1 fuel reg is in the swirl pot or whatever)
and a maf tune, intake pipe with a pod hsv extractors and a twin 2.5" sytem made 240rwkw and made like 280rwkw with some fuel he was tellin me about super octane or something its dense as ****, unlike e85 instead of using 30% more u use like 50% less but its 2x the price so works out similar to pump 98...

Yeah, because it was $42k!! That was just a retarded brain fart. Serves me right for taking my mates hot girlfriend to the dealer with me, she was very convincing! I was actually looking at VX LS1’s before I bought the red baron, but they were either thrashed or the blokes wanted drug money for the good ones. They were all SS’s though, so that was where I went wrong.

Anyway, you seem to have lucked out with this one Dan. If you can get as good economy out of it with a tune as everyone recons, they you’d be silly not to. Just make it sound tough too.

My Holden went from approx 210 to 230 rwkw with OTR and mafless tune. Sounds a lot nicer at higher revs, still quiet in normal driving, a bit more power and otherwise identical to how it was before. No complaints.

I went through C&A Auto Fashion, Blackburn.
