So some of you may of seen that I sold my old courier dual cab. Have been looking at second hand low k utes for a while, even with 50-80ks there still around 25-28g. So never thought I'd do it, but for a little bit more, i bought a new one.

Nissan navara d22 2.5L turbo diesel. Got it with ute liner, tow bar, stone deflector and full of fuel , drive away. So now I have something that can legally tow the ute and not need 1st gear on hills ha ha. It's my first new car and am so stoked.

Looks mint. Didnt think they still made that shape.
The d40 were a shit engine. They snap timing chain guides at 160k

Ha ha this is the same engine detuned a little, in the older model. They have stopped making them now. My dad has a chipped d40, goes hard.

cheers man. yeah we explain dads d40 as the best dual cab we've ever had and the worst. never anything wrong with the motor, just a heap of little things. but the way the rear seats fold up and how good it is out on the road, makes it a bloody good ute.

cheers michael. drove it 800ks today back up from sydney and it's great to drive, cruise's good as.

as for a tow car it's got one big advantage over the newer ute's, it's still got manual hubs. might not sound like that much, but it means when you have the trailer on, you can put it into 4x4 low and stay in 2x4. make's it so much easier on everything when you need to back the trailer round into a tight spot.
when there auto hubs, you put it into low 4x4 and they bind up on the bitumen and feel like your gunna break something.

Lol yeah it goes alright haha, always get a few wtf looks.

Mines only 4x2, company didn't see much sense in a 4x4.

Manual hubs are the way to go as you said, the ranger struggles a bit to reverse the trailer/ED up my driveway.

ah righto. yeah all the ute's are so fast in 1st and reverse now days, feels like your gunna kill a clutch towing a trailer in one trip.

hey nut i'm guessing the ranger was actually dynoed, when you say rwkw. not just chipped and they tell you it should have x amount of power??
who did it..better or worse on fuel?
