Postby dannysebxr6 » August 20th, 2012, 7:57 pm

now issues are arising,,
last week and a half ive noticed when driving home from work, sitting at 60kph in 4th the car hesitates.
then noticed today it did it all the way home.
checked out a few threads on here and fordmods but seems there can be numerous fixes with no results.
Has anyone had this issue?
hoping its a fuel filter as the car has sat around for a while being a show car. Guessing the filter internals could be shagged.
Ive read it could be one of the listed below:
- plugs
- leads
- oxygen sensors
- fuel filter
- fuel pump
- earth strap from block to battery
- and lastly the balancer.
Anyone had any of these let go?

Cheers
Daniel

It'll do it in gear or not. The rubber between the two balancer bits perishes/cracks and the counterweight spins to be in the wrong spot for the crank.
I'd get it checked out asap, don't want a damaged crank

thanks for the info bradd,
replaced the fuel filter tonight and noticed a funny idle still once started.
opened the bonnet and checked the balancer, all looks ok.
then looked a little harder and found my intake hose to the throttle body had come off.
so the car was getting unmetered air after the maf.
so ive retightened a little harder and ill see how it is tomorrow.

Nah thought I had.
Still surges slightly on very light acceleration.
Not a balancer though. I have s feeling its fuel pump
or injectors.

I'd pull the injectors, get them ultrasonic ally cleaned, clean the intake manifold, then get some upper engine cleaner and run that through. The 5.0's have a habit of filling themselves with carbon

Get a few cans of the Motorcraft stuff if you work at Ford, same as the good old Subaru upper engine cleaner

Yep that's definitely not a good idea especially with amps, subs and shit.

But the high effect doesn't hit till you've finished.

Well finally figured out missing issue.
Decided to carry out small service replaced rotor button, dizzy cap,
leads and plugs. Found when removing plugs cylinder 2 was cracked in the
ceramic part.
Replaced them all and carried out vigorous road test.
All fixed hooray.!!
Also replaced front lower ball joint at home yesterday.
Thank god for hydraulic presses.
Took over 3 hours to get it done, but it's done.
And now for rwc tomorrow to finally get it fully into my name.
It's taken awhile but ive got there.

Cheers

thought id update.
been a while havent done much apart from fix shit that dies.
replaced pedal box on the weekend as mine had twisted. so much better to drive now!
also replaced rear window reg and front door actuator. now need to fix a/c cause the heat kills it in the car, like a sauna!.
fitted a au maf also. and factory tubing to throttle as the silicone shit the old owner put on kept falling off.

Was also thinking of changing the dark argents to the silver ones! what do you guys reckon?

tried the ba gtp 19" in e series offset and for some reason they looked shit on this.

Cheers
